Hi New Jersey!!    Got out on Thursday.  51 degrees, sunny, not as windy as Wednesday, water a little more muddy than usual.  A few more people out fishing than normal.  I guess people are getting over the winter's " cabin fever".  After trying some stick baits, crank baits, some artificial worms, and even a small spinner bait,   had a couple of hits,(all came on stick bait ) but wasn't able to set any hooks.  Skunked twice in one week.  Fish 2, Dan O.  I'll get'em next time.

Hey New Jersey!!  Got out Tuesday and Thursday in a small lake in Pitman.

Good fishing Tuesday 51, cloudy, a little wind.  Hit a Triple.  Used a CrankBait and Berkley Alive Minnows.  Caught 5 or 6 Bass. Two which were decent size.  One nice Pickerel and a Yellow Perch.  Most on Crank Bait.

Thursday 53, sunny, Gusts of wind up to 45 mph.  WoW!!   Used a stick bait and Caught over 5 Bass and one very large Crappie.   The little creek in the back of the lake that usually produces some strikes was dammed off by one of the biggest beavers I've ever seen.  When that dam breaks, there is going to be a tidal wave.  I hope I'm not in the vicinity if it happens.   A good way to start off the First day of spring.

WoW!!  11 pike, sounds like a alot of fun and excitement!  I would have gotten out on sunday also, but the wife invited family over real early.  What's a 23" weigh?? Did you use your homemade plugs?  Only caught one Pike in my life. It was in the mid  20's  ins. . I don't think they are as abundant in the waters around here.  I wish they were.

I did get out the day before Easter for about an hour.  Fished the banks at a lake in Deptford.  53 and sunny,  and no fish were home.  Lost one of my favorite lures in a tree.   I know, fish don't climb trees!!

23 incher is about 2-3 lbs. they have to be 24 to keep. little too early to use the home made lures, but I did get them wet. tried them out, check the noise and action. finished some others, tried them out too. and they all float. I have some others I'm working on that sink. have to be painted.

went out fishing all weekend. very windy and cold. wasn't great, but we did get 5 pike and a 2 lb. crappie Saturday. Sunday we caught 3 pike and had 2 wipers on and lost both of them. My dad got a 4 lb. large mouth. cold enough Sunday that the line was freezing as fast as you could reel it in, had about 1/2 inch of ice on the side of the boat from the overflow out of the livewell.

My face is seriously wind burn...tough weekend to be a fisherman...but I wouldn't have it any other way.

a Wiper, is the nickname given to the Hybird Stripers. Hybirds are a cross between a White bass and a Stripe Bass, hence the nickname Wiper.

Good luck on Saturday fishing for bait....I mean trout...LOL

I'm going out Thursday afternoon with one of the guys I used to work with.

On a small lake wednesday. 53, sunny, and windy. I can't wait until I can say sunny calm and 80.  Caught a dozen or so Bass, a couple of nice Crappie and some sunnies, all on a small stick bait. I'm going out Thursday. I am going to try some place different. Thanks Steve.  Can't wait for Saturday. That bait is going to taste good with some garlic and onions.  Good luck Thursday.

Well I did get out that Monday.  Explored a little at a new place. Just a small area in Vineland.   Went out targeting Trout, but Caught a 3 lb Bass on a trout spinner. Picked up a bunch of Yellow perch. I had an idea to start paddling backwards in the kayak and troll with a minnow stick bait.   BANG!!   A large Brown trout nailed the lure! Got em up to the side and netted him, only to have him jump right out of my lap.  After that I must have back paddled for an hour straight. Nothing!! I tried a small area and netted a 10 inch trout.  Just before I was to leave, I tried trolling again and BANG Again!!.  This time I netted him and basically sat on him until I reached the shore.   A good day. 2 four plus pound Brownies.  One to take home and one to  battle another time!
