fished the river up here by us a couple of times last week. I haven't fished the river in years. we did well, good action on smallies and walleyes. my dad caught on short and a 20 incher. I had a nice one on and lost it. NO Muskies or Stripers. We'll be hitting Furnace lake on Sunday for Muskies. hasn't been good for them so far this year. tomorrows another day...U never know! |

Sun 26, Oct. Fishing in Passaic River, Hannover. Afternoon. A lot of action, many jumps around, I could see big ones ! I used artificial lure: Worms, jerkbait and crankbaits. I catch 2 small sticks and 1 big ! but for some reason NO fishes bite me LOL. A lot of sticks in the water, I had to use floats. Many action but NO catch. |

had our best day we can remember at Oxford. Started off slow, didn't get started till after 9am. We hit for the cycle. Perch, Crappies, Bass, and the most exciting...Musky. The Musky was the most exciting because after it was hooked, it started jumping, 3 times, like Mako fishing. It cleared the water at least 1.5 times it's body length, it was too cool. had to be 12-15 lbs. never did get it to the boat, it must have got the line in it's mouth with all the jumping, and ended up cutting it. didn't think it would be that good with it being such a sunny day. |

Hello New Jersey and anyone else listening. I've been trying to post some reports here, but have been having problems with the site. The Club said they are working on the site and apologizes for any inconvience. I have been fishing for da TRouT. Here are some pictures from October and November.

I've been checking out a couple of lake where we have been bird hunting at Assunpink. The main lake, as well as one in the woods, Stone Tavern. big Bass, Crappies and Perch. hope the cold holds for a while so we can get some ice fishing in this year. |

Hi NJ. I made it out today. 65, Partly Cloudy, Slight wind. Went to Alcyon Lake in Pitman NJ. Used just one lure all day. Matzuo Nano Minnow. Caught 10 Bass and 2 Sunnies. 6 of the Bass were very small. One of them was 4 inches long. As I was fishing and caught one of the last Bass, a Monster Snapper Turtle emerged and watched me as I was casting near a storm pipe. I took a picture, but don't think it came out. His neck had to be a foot long !! A good day on the water. Here are some pics.

Here is that Snapper Turtle. Of Course he stuck his head underwater just as I snapped this shot. I hope You still can see him. Look how long his neck was!! I have seen these monster turtles a lot in this area, and know people that use to catch them to sell to the neighborhood restaraunts around here.

I fished Stone Tavern lake in Assunpink for the first time about a month ago. got into the crappies, about 30, nothing big. pretty little lake. would like to get back there again. |

A friend of mine was out fishing for Flounder the other day near Grassy Sounds. They took in almost 20 Flounder, but only three keepers. The 18 inch size limit makes it hard to take many home for dinner. I hear the Stripers are active and the Black Drum are in the bay, some above 70 pounds. The Drum will be hanging around for about another month. On May 16th We caught about 8 Drum with the biggest being 52 pounds on Clam. The one I caught was 38 pounds. A nice fish, but small considering some of the behemouths swimming around the bay. The Weakfish are a lot harder to find. Bring back the 70's and 80's when there were so many you could walk on them in Fortescue NJ.
