to start with they need to get our lakes filled back up to max cap. insted of letting lakes drop down to 21% of what they should have in them.. so why are we sending 34,000 acre feet of water to texas????????

according to  NM state parks own website most of our lakes are sitting at 12 and 28% of there max cap. to me these number should be up around 50 - 70%

"The Carlsbad Irrigation District and New Mexico State Parks have agreed on a plan to limit recreation impacts at Sumner Lake State Park from the recently announced deal between CID and the Interstate Stream Commission (ISC).   CID has agreed to move 10,000 acre feet of water from Santa Rosa Lake to Sumner Lake in order to partially replace water released from Sumner as part of the CID-ISC deal to send 34,000 acre feet of water to Texas. "

then the need to start reclaiming lakes and getting unwanted vegitation out of them. which is not all that dificult to do!!

then they need to worry about getting decent stocks done on the lakes.. namely in winter when less people are fishing giving the stocked fish time to grow a bit and give us something worth fishing!

but they only seem to care about stocking trout anyway! not that i dont like trout but man can not live on trout alone!!
