anyone have any good fishing tips for Conchas and Ute Lakes? planing a trip in Mid-June.

    tips for Eagle Nest Lake:

Straight across lake from boat ramp is a natural spring to area for trout and yellow perch. year round. (even nice for ice fishing)

Kokanee Salmon seem to favor west end of lake during spawning season. rest of time they seem to run deep thru the channel.

Cochiti - DONT WASTE YOUR TIME..

Bluewater - DONT WASTE YOUR TIME..

both great lakes if all you want to do is sit in your boat pull your hat over your eyes and take a nap!

How many NAFC members do we have out there in New Mexico right now?  Do we have enough to start a chapter?

trip to Ute this june was all kinds of fun!  lets see boat motor problems first day..  finally got on water for 2 days was chased off by tornado 50 miles away..got back to lake week later spent week fishing  lot of bite lots of non keepers.. and finally last 2 days there got a nice walleye a great smallmouth and a not to shabby large mouth. not bad for first trip to a lake i never fished. and not bad for my friend from london on his fisrt fishing trip ever! he got 3 bluegills 2 small mouths same they were just below legal keep size :( and 1 large mouth keeper.

and even upgraded to a bigger newer motor for the boat all in all great trip!

ah and for anyone having boat repair or service needs at ute lake {Logon NM} (as i did) i highly recommend High Plains Marine. everyone else up there were ummmm lets just say they werent so friendly or responsive to the needs of someone that need a quick repair to be able to take out of country friend without making him come back in 3- 6 months just to track down a minor electrical problem..

ask for Dan or Larry and let em know thor sent ya!

worst day fishin is better than the best day workin!
