Hello fellow fishermen in the Southern Adirondack area of New York or our Vermont neighbors. I am an advid fisherman (mostly soft water) and I live in Washington County near Glens Falls/Lake George/Southern Lake Champlain area. I also have a camp up in Essex County located next to Lake George and Lake Champlain. I have lost my primary fishing partner and first mate since my son has grown up and found himself a career in the US Coast Guard. I fish for a varied species of fish the most of my fishing time from my 19 foot center console. I fish Northern Lake George and Lake Champlain often but also like to travel to other lakes and ponds. I have downriggers and fish for Lake Trout often and have been having great luck with the lakers this year. I would like to figure out the LL Salmon on Lk. Geo. and get as lucky with them. One of my favorite species is those "eyes" and I would love to see the Walleyes make a big come-back on Lake Champlain. Oh yes I will travel to catch Walleyes if you know one of those secret spots!I am interested in finding a new fishing partner or two and then share some of our fishing secrets as we fish some of our favorite species. Any interested fishing partners? Yes I would like to hear from other Veterans too.

I want to update my last post for a fishing partner!

    .

Spring is coming... it is around the corner is what I keep telling myself and I am looking forward to the 2008 fishing season. I am waiting for sunshine to roll out the boat from its winter storage area and to mount the new Minn Kota trolling motor on the bow. Then I will give her a bath and load her up with the tackle boxes and all my other gear. I am still looking for a new fishing partner or two to enjoy some quality fishing times with. I will take the boat back up to camp in April and be ready to do some fishing as soon as ice goes out. I want to fish Lake George for Lakers and maybe some Salmon; then as soon as the season opens on Lake Champlain I want to try my luck for some Walleyes. Hey if your interested in fishing... give me a shout! I would like to find a new partner that would like to also fish the LCI Derby this year too. Maybe also find another two guys that want to fish in the team event at the LCI as well.

    .

I fish every weekend from spring thru fall plus a number of days during the week too. I love to arrange 3 and 4 day weekends to spend at camp and get in some quality fishing time. I am 60 years old and interested in meeting others that like to fish. My wife is not much of a fisherman and just assume stay back at camp or at home and let me go fishing. It is much more fun fishing with another person that enjoys the sport. You need not have a boat of your own. If you own a small carry in type boat that would be cool because I know of a number of places to fish that is impossible to get my 19' center console into.

    .

Get in touch with the fishing-eagle here if your interested in becoming fishing partners.

Sounds like an awesome time on the water.

WTG, good luck and god bless your son. Tell him thanks for servicing and keeping our US safe.

I was in the Marine Corp. 92-96, and was a S.A.W. gunner for 3 of those years.

BTW, I don't get up there much, but if you'd like to come down my way, (saratoga county), I'd be up to taking you out on my home waters of Saratoga Lake and the Hudson River.

Hey Ultralite and ChrisG... not sure I will be heading to Saratoga Lake anytime soon to fish as the boat traffic is beyond belief. I rather go north fishing and its one of the reasons I invested in my camp up north. But hey maybe we can hook up sometime.  There is the NE Meet in May at Rogers Rock and maybe I will see you guys there?

    .

I tell my son thanks for his service to us and the country often. He reenlisted this fall for another 6 years. In three weeks he is heading down to VA to pick up his brand new 19' Ranger bass boat and take it back up with him to his present station in norther Maine. He is planning on fishing some Bass tourneys this year on his free time. He has the best of many worlds as he gets to have a career working on the water serving his country while catching the "Bad Boys" and protecting all the other folks plus he spend his free time out on the water doing what he loves too... and that is fishing. Oh yeah he works out on the Atlantic Ocean and has his own place on a local lake. He has been catching salmon thru the ice a couple hundred feet from his door. He has to be careful not to throw the fish directly on the ice or the Eagles fly down and steal his fish so he has to put them into a pail with a cover.

F E if I was closer I certainly would run up and fish with you. I hope to get up to the lake George meet maybe I'll get to meet you and some of the others. Member meets are great for fellowship and learning new ways of fishing. I can't say enough about the people I met at the meet I went to.

    Channelcat...

I might be talked into fishing for some eyes on the river... even tho it would drive me crazy when I have to return those dinner size ones... but I know we can't keep or eat the fish from below the dam.  Hope to see you at the meet and we can talk about chasing some eyes.

Wellsley... we might just be able to get out for some lakers if you come to the meet.

fishing-eagle one of the good things about the river being c+r is that the fish have grown to really nice sizes, at least for local fish. there r some really nice northerns, lg + sm. bass, + some really nice eyes. Only prblem is that the dredging project is about 2 begin and I feel the fishing will suffer 4 a while.

I think the dredging will only effect the area in which they are doing it. Not to sure that going down river past the many locks and spillway dams will it funk up the lower sections, but who knows.

I'm game for some weekday fishing if anyone has weekdays off.

I've already be scheduled to met up with ChrisG in a week, can't wait. Hope that mothernature will let us do some trout fishing or even stop at a few other honey holes and maybe get several different species. I just love those double digit and multi-species days.
