according to the fish reg. book we can catch american shad in the mohawk river as far up stream as the dam in rome (15 min e. of my home). i can't find anyone in this area who fishes for them. can you tell me what bait/hook size to use? when the "run" reaches utica/rome?should they be fried, baked, smoked, pickled? any & all info would be appreicated!
