when visiting my son in this area i have seen (from rt. 81)open pit sand mines. these are flooded. i have also seen (from rt 31 w of syr) retanglar pit mines also flooded. are there fish in them? would i be shot at if i wet a hook? we want to fish in the area when i visit. little york looks good. any advise from local members? finger lakes look a little big for my motorized canoe.
