    Hey all,
New member here. Ive been trying to fish bass and pike on Lake George NY all my life and am just recently getting more into it because my brother and I have boat access.
Anyone have any tips or tricks on landing some bass or pike on this big lake.
Normally I'm out there with Powerbait or live minnows and crayfish hopin for a bite but I just usually take little Rock bass.
Any fellow anglers out there who've fished Lake George have any tips on landing Bass or Pike?

    -Gus

Lake George is an excellent lake for Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass. Just take your time checking out the structure on the lake and you shold land plenty of quality fish. Fishing powerbait worms or grubs should entice the Bass. If you really want to fish for Northerns then I suggest you check out Lake Champlain. Lake George does have Northerns but Lake Champlain can really produce large trophies.

I was in that area today and they still have a couple of feet of snow on the ground. I can't wait for green grass and sunshine.

Hey Wellsley... you were up here in my neck of the woods. Well it's almost a week later since you were here and yes we still have snow on the ground and I don't like it. I want to pull the boat out of its shelter and load up my fishing gear and things don't look too promising.  I am thinking sun and green grass... yes I am trying to think positive.

I wish you luck with getting the boat out. The news today showed a pic of  Lake George there by the mini ha ha dock and it looked like the was alot of open water. One of the guys at work is headed up above the sagamore to ice fish tomorrow. I see on the news the guys who got caught with to many perch got caught again. What are your plans for the NE meet are you going to Rogers Rock on saturday. I'll be at site# 23 friday. See you up there.

I will be at the meet. I will or should be up there on Friday or possibly Thursday evening. I won't be staying at Rogers Rock campsite because my camp is just a couple miles north of Rogers Rock and it has a full size comfortable bed and other comforts. I will be at the rock visiting everybody and I will look you up for sure. I may be driving to the rock or coming by boat, depending on the time of day.

    .

I will be pulling the boat out of its barn this weekend and giving it a bath and start polishing her. (if the weatherman is correct)

    .

Yes those so called fishermen got caught again. They are not fishermen or sportsmen, they are poachers and thieves. They are stealing from real sportsman. I hope they end up paying the $100. per fish fine. They also should lose their fishing license forever.

Good to hear fishing -eagle. I don't know if you have a empire pass to get in the park. If you don't I can put another vehicle on my camping permit. This would allow you to come and go without having to pay. Let me know if your interested, you would be most welcome to do so.

Not sure what the weatherman is going to throw you this weekend. Its sunny but cold here. We had 6" plus of snow. Tomorrow sounds better than today.

I agree they are poachers. They should confiscate everything involved in the crime. The fishing gear, 4 wheelers, ect...

    Look forward to meeting you.

Wellsley I would be happy to use that parking space at your site. I do not have a permit but have thought about getting a season pass. It is just as easy for me to go launch my boat up at Mossy Point, plus its a better launch and free.

    .

I just might have to give you a boat ride out among the Lake Trout in return. You will have to wear one of those new shirts for the meet cause ERABBIT said they will attract the Lakers. LOL
