Hello guys,

Chris you might better go west to Allegany river for those hog walleyes, I here they grow them big out there.

Welcome Jim and Fred I look forward to hearing from you guys. What do you guys fish for? As for me I like pike and musky but have to travel a good ways to catch them.

I live in Verona NY, between East end Oneida Lake & Mohawk River. I keep a few hives of honey bees. Love to fish for walleyes, bass, bullhead, pike, trout, perch...most anything that bits! Have attended NE & Finger Lakes meets..highly recommend them...great bunch of people. Mostly spin fish..making some lures, spinners, tie some flies..have to try fly fishing this year. Son lives in Cortland.. will fish in that area...daughter lives in Henrietta...took 4/12 yr granddaughter fishing last June, thunder storm cut that short!! Making a coffee table book of lake contour maps (NYS) learned some ponds i thought shallow have deep holes, a reservoir i thought was very deep...is only 15' deep!  Maps are only 5' contour increments, but are still useful! Working in Syracuse NY   Seeking fishing pardners in above areas..   chuck

I don't post much, but I'm here! I've been a life member since 1990.I'm in southern Ulster County between NewPaltz and Newburgh in the town of Wallkill.I enjoy fishing in alot of areas of the Wallkill River for smallies.

I also belong to The Orange Lake Fish & Game Association for roughly 10 years or so.There,I like to target Pickerel, and the occasional Largemouth.

Tom Ballard Sr  here from Walton, N.Y.Delaware County. Love to bowhunt deer. Hunt Turkeys, and fish for trout and salmon on the Salmon river Poulaski, N.Y. I have a camp at Altmar. Fall out of bed and walk to the river. Always interested in having some company to fish with. Had a real nice fall fishing to the end of Oct and the first of Nov. Caught and released coho & chinook salmon, brown trout, steelhead and a hybred salmon. Think it was a cross between a steelie and coho salmon not realy sure.Caught this fish feb 27 2009. It weighed 12 1/2 pounds

Hi Life Member from Upstate NY (Delaware Cty / Formerly from Rockland Cty). I love to fish for Bass large and small, pike, pickerel, muskie, trout, catfish and now I also fish for carp when the bite is off on my favorites. But I am a die hard bass nut followed closely by the esox family. I fish whenever and where I can. I got bad news this year as some of the place I fish small ponds and such ahve been bought by people not from here and have posted some nice little fishing holes. Oh well maybe someone local will read this and hook me up with some other areas to fish. I also read that they have open some areas around the delaware river from my area down towards Walton so I will have to check them out. Still looking fro some good bass and pike areas.

The Schoharie creek north of Prattsville is known for smallies and walleye. There is also the lake at the old scotch valley ski slope in Stamford good for bass and pickeral. The Susquehana river in the Oneonta area good for smallies .

Hey thanks for the info, I have fished the small lake near deer run/scotch valley. I have caught a few Lgmouth Bass not many big ones and a few smallies again not really big but a great fight. Have not seen pickerel in a while I think after the bad storms over the last few years they found there way out and down towards Stamford. I did last year start to fish for carp there 8lbs plus are hitting there. I did hook a nice smallie over in Edmeston in the Susquehana River going to go back and try that a bit more and I did fish early in the year last year in Oneonata off I-88 in the Susquehana but no bigs still cold and water was high and fast. I did go over to the Mine Kill and caught a tiger trout???? Fish I have never hurt of very beautiful fish but wierd looking. I also fished in and around the Gilboa area. I will find more places as time goes on. I want to head back up to Pecks Lake again this year but get up before the end of Spring. I will keep you post and feel free to send me any tips or places around the area to fish if you hear about any.

Thanks,

Lifer Rob D

Tom, We fish Pulaski, NY, along the Salmon River each Oct.  You could find us fly fishing the Trout Brook Stream, at the mouth of the Salmon.  This year, we'll be up there from Oct 15 - 25th.  Because of my back injury, I don't go into the main river.  However, between Trout Brook and Orwell, I've limited each day and, I've got a new section of Trout Brook to locate and try this year, an area off Ward Str.  We stay at Stoney's Pineville Camp.  If you are up there during this period, stop over and ask for Lloyd.  Good Fishing. Hello felllow NYers...I'm from Queens. I fish in Jamaica Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. Mainly inshore speices such as Striped Bass, Blue Fish, Flounder, Fluke, Porgies, Black Fish, Sea Bass and Weak Fish. I have a 17 CC Parker Boat. When weather and Ocean conditions permit, I venture out to the ocean to fish the reefs. Not much freshwater fishing here, but I go Upstate twice a year camping. There I've caught Small Mouth and Large Mouth Bass on Lake Welch and Lake Sebago. But anyways, I've been a member since May 2010. So far, so good with the club. I enjoy getting all these nice surprises from the club. Can't wait to get my Rod and Reel even though I don't care for Shimano...lol...I prefer Quantum...All my gear are Cabo Reels and Cabo and Boca Rods. Take care all...Happy fishing!
