It's a lite spinning rod. Not ultra lite but not a meduim. Closer to a meduim rod. It would be good for bass. I've caught 5 to 6.5 lb bass and 7lb or more pike, 3lb trout.

Welcome Norm, I get out that way and fish Seneca and Cayuga lake for lake trout and pike. We have a members meet in September at sunset on seneca lake camp ground all are welcome.

Hey folks.......live near Buffalo, fishin Erie, Niagra, and a lot of the streams feedin the lake. Hope everyone has a great summer on the water this year !!!!
