I've already caught more fish this year then I did last year. I also have fished with more buds then I did last year. I just got to make it a point to keep it up.

Hello Frank, Pete and all others reading this. I made it out Friday on Champlain and played around with some smaller Landlocks which I released to grow until we meet on another day. The yellow perch were also liking my salmon spoons even at 40 to 60 feet down. Many of them are back in the lake to grow as well. Yet a half dozen of the bigger perch did taste very good with some eggs and home made hash browns for a brunch after a morning of fishing. The waves were growing to 2 to 3 footers and the sun was getting hotter, even with a steady strong wind out of the southwest. So calling a day and going back to camp for brunch was a great idea.

I made it back out on Sat. morning to dod some fishing for Lakers, this time on Lake George. Fished for less than 3 hours until we had enough fun and I was getting tired cranking the reel and pulling up some 5 nice lakers from 100 to 150 foot depths. Its a good thing I decided not to fish with my normal christmas tree rig which are larger & heavier blades; because the lakers were larger & fighters for sure. Usually the Lake Trout are a bit tuckered and tired out when you get them near the surface; but they must have all taken their vitamins. They all ran between 23 & 28 inches long with nice big girths but tired they were not. It was fun getting a big lake to the surface where you can see them and then have them run line off against the drag as they decide to head back down to where they came from. I had one lake jump three times out of the water behind the boat... he must have thought he was a Salmon or something else. His fourth jump almost got him out of the net; but my net handler did a fine job to prevent the get-away & escape.

We never made it out on the water today ( we did plan to go out) because we had a great party at camp last night with a DJ and lots of good food and fun. I must have stayed up too late and tired myself out. I slept in this morning.

Sounds like you had a great trip fishing-eagle. A lot more fun than we have been having over here. We had round 2 on the severe storms yesterday afternoon, when a Typhoon slammed into us. I was in Clearwater Florida years ago when Hurricane Gordon passed by us. It kinda reminded me of that, with the rain blowing sideways in sheets with the 60 to 70 mph winds.

Good to hear your still able to reel those big lakers into the reel delight. Sounds like those fish are keeping you in shape. Great report now if you just had some pic's to show everyone how fat those Lake George Lakers are. They are definately well fed. Congrats Walt keep up the good work. Oops there's that 4 letter word.
