Returned from visiting my son Byron in Fayetteville NC. He lives in New Hope, 5 min drive from Fort Bragg. I posted twice on NC forum asking about fishing info....got zip....Day before his college grad. he took me fishing on the pier @ Wrightsville Beach, all we did was decorate the pier legs with a lot of tackle!!  Feller next to us caught a chair....& several "sand shad"...even those used as bait did not help!!  Next time i will net search for a charter boat trip!!  Byron said we would not fresh water fish arount fayetteville as the river side was full of drug addicts who would "roll us like drunken sailors"! Had a good visit...but the fishing sucked...stoped after we were caught in a heavy (warm) rain.Hope the NY fishing is better for me!!!!         Chuck
