Close Lake Higgins Watershed Park, which will close all activities at Lake Higgins Lake Higgins is a popular spot for fishing, boating, and hiking. People at the lake Tuesday said Greensboro wouldn't be the same without Lake Higgins.
"This is basically my life in Greensboro. I come out paddling every day and I couldn't train," said Caroline Jonsson, who often kayaks at Lake Higgins.
"I think that would be terrible. That's the kind of stuff that leads to the demise of the public park system," said Tim Bray, who teaches his three children to fish at the lake.
Young said Lake Higgins costs $88,000 to operate. "It's a popular lake, but we've got to make tough choices. We've got to cut $9 million and everything is important to some segment of the community and we've got to make a choice about what we do and don't do," said Young.
So here they go again cut the things that they don't use or don't like to do! If your from this area you need to show up on the next meeting and let your voice be heard!
