We discussed this at the September Planning meeting about looking for a nice used golf cart or utility vehicle (John Deere Gator, Cub Cadet Big Country) for our Chapter that would be mainly used by our handicapped members to help them get to and from the restrooms, showers, or their vehicles in the parking lot. There are many of them on ebay and priced pretty reasonable. Here is where I need the Ohio Chapter Member's Input. As I stated at the Sept.15th planning meeting, I am donating $100.00 towards the Golf Cart Fund. I would like to invite each member that feels led to donate money towards this fund to send me a PM and I will get back to you with my address. Do we want an electric(battery powered) golf cart or do we want a gas powered golf cart. I am led to believe that the electric ones are the way to go because they are much quieter than a gas powered one, but would require the additional purchase of a golf cart battery charger. Also, we may be able to send out letters to golf cart companies/dealers and ask them to donate a used golf cart and explain to them what it will be used for and that the would be able to use the donation as a tax deduction and all of that good stuff. If someone would like to volunteer to make up a donation request letter please let me know. This subject is open for discussion to all members of the Nafc Ohio Chapter, including the Officers. So post your thoughts, ideas, suggestions, questions, or whatever, as long as it pertains to getting a golf cart for our chapter.
