I have recently become friends with a New York Radio Personality who goes by the name of Grissly Gary. He is in the Southerntier of New York State... I am helping him to promote a tournament that they are having by posting a tidbit about it here in the NAFC forums. Seeing that this tourney is for an AMERICAN cause.. I felt it was ok to mention it here. I am also going to post this in the NY, OH and PA forums.
Here is what Gary has to say about it......
3RD Annual Kinzua Allegheny Walleye Associations Disabled American Veterans Benefit Walleye Tournament.
Monies raised at this tourny are used for the DAV van program that transports disabled vets to hospitals in Cleveland,Buffalo,Erie and Pittsburgh. Monies are also used to take vets on fishing outings as well as purchase needed items for the Soldiers and Sailors Home in Erie Pa.
Last year we raised just over $16,000 for our disabled vets. Our goal this year is $20,000. With the Iraq & Afganistan actions the need is even greater. Please join us and fish with a great group of people for a great cause. Last 2 years we had 100+ teams,we hope to hit 125-150 this year.
Here are a few details:
1. $5000 1st place guaranteed
2. Team tournament for walleye
3. Catch and release. These boys have a 99% + record of getting those fish back in the water to live and fight another day.
4. Pays down 10 spots
5. $1000 Big fish of the weekend
6. Kinzua Reservoir, Willow Bay, is location.
7. Kids tourny Saturday, Prizes for all of the kids.
There is entertainment all weekend for the entire family. Huge campground right at the launch site.
