I'm looking for public spots or access to private ponds to fish in the Northeast Ohio area. I am a 35 year old life member. I promise to pick up after myself and practice catch and release only.

Hey walleyeangler21, welcome to the club and the forums. We have many members on here from Ohio and there are even some from your area. Are you familiar with Ravenna ? We have our annual fishing meet there each year at West Branch State Park. I would like to invite you to check out the Nafc Ohio Chapter's site for all the information you need on the Ohio Chapter as well as local Ohio fishing reports. If you like the idea of hooking up with fellow fishermen and women from our state and making new fishing buddies, all you have to do to be a member ofthe Nafc Ohio Chapter is send AmyM or one of the Ohio Chapter Officers your information and you will be a member. There are no extra dues or fees to become a member of the Ohio Chapter. I hope this helps and I hope to get to meet you at one of our upcoming events. Thanks and have a great day. BD

Need to check out the Ohio Chapter link. West Branch is good jumping off point. Then you have Lake Hodgson (pay lake) in Ravenna, the Cyahouga River from Akron backtracking Northeast into Hiram. Lots of pike large/small mouth bass and catfish. When the water is up in spring and fall there's a nice white bass run in the Kent area of the river. Not to forget the Portage Lakes and Mogadore Resivoir and opening in 2010 Wingfoot Lake in Southern Portage county.
