why doesn't the state post fishing reports all year?this would be really helpful in the winter months when wanting to go ice fishing.you would know if the ice was safe and/or the fish are hitting.they stop posting fish info in the middle of october and this is during some of the best fishing of the year.some of you fellow members do post on the conditions and activity but, what one person considers safe ice maynot be safe or safe enough for another on a differant location or lake.have sent a couple of e-mails to the state and asked them about this and never recieved a return answer.

They probably are worried about liablity. If they say it is safe and someone falls through its there neck. Conditions can change very fast and data might not be up to date and less than accurate.

common sense still plays a roll in it but, i quess there isn't enough people with that.so, if you go to local bait shop and he tells you that they're catching fish and hitting on this and you go and fall through the bait shop is liable?how about all those folks that get caught on lake erie each year and have to be rescued?the state isn't responable for thier actions.just having the info is a guide to where and when it might be a time to go.

I don't do ice fishing either. There are several members of the nafcohiochapter that do. I work in Canton and have lived in the area my entire life, not sure of many places for January fishing. You may want to check out the chapter site maybe someone there can help. nafcohiochapter.com

farmer red, when the Ohio Chapter site was redone (back when), everyone had to re-register. You are more than welcome to re-register, just let me know that it is you and I will activate you ASAP.
