Will be busy the next 2 wks below the Crabill House so will post last 3 groups already done now. #16 N39 57.469 W 083 43.240 Handicap fishing platform on N outer shore of Marina 18 "C" trees (5 with brush) in 3 rows- 1st row 8 "C" trees only inline 15-25' off shore in front of old sign post 40' W of platform 2cnd row 5"C" trees with brush inline 15-25' off NW corner of platform in 8-15' water 3rd row 5 "C" trees only 15-25' off shore NE corner of platform in 8-15' water. This spot was ON FIRE from early April untill mid June last year, several persons fishing it said it produced over 100 fish (OK, not all keepers) 3 or 4 times during this period. And not just crappies, atleast 4 large bass were caught there as well. #17 N39 57.535 Wo83 43.232 8 "C" trees only NE corner of bay N of Marina (Catfish Cove) 2/5ths distance of eroding bluff from Lakeside Trail in 8-15' this is the least well known and smallest set. During a SW wind several boaters reported doing very well fishing the deeper edges, one had 10 15" crappies and 1 14" smallmouth from there. #18 The Gravel Bar running E to W topping "Catfish Cove" 60 cedar brush blocks (no "C" trees) in 5 sets each 1st set- N39 57.798 W 083 43.450 2cnd set N39 57.755 W083 43.489 3rd set N39 57.720 W083 43.422 4th set 39 57.604 W083 43.369 5th set failed due to sudden gust of wind during drop, too shallow , will be redone. More will be added later this summer extending the line W. Except for set 5 all are in 8-15' deep and being brush blocks none is over 18" tall. Good luck fishing these. #18 Additions - #18 G -N39 57.575 W083 43.407 8 total ( 6 brush blocks, 2 "C"trees) #18 H- N39 57.573 W083 43.399 7 total (5 brush blocks, 2 "C" trees) The majority of the sets are cedar brush blocks, all less than 18" tall, put the "C" trees there as easy to find "markers". Yestrerday 40+ WB caught on #16 one gentleman had 7 over 12" on silver rooster tail spinner, said lost 2 spinners, but was taking his sore wrist and nice catch home- hoped his hand was up to cleaning them. Also said he might slip bobber fish next time, shallow. I did express sympathy and suggested BenGay and a day of rest. He looked at me quite strangely and said he`d find the strenght to cast a Winget on out there TOMMOROW (his emphisice, not mine) Would think he`s coming down with a serious case of white bass fever, literally. |
