The project Lake Erie South will enter it`s 4th and final? stage starting approx. April 15th, there are 155+ "C" trees on the old unused N boat ramp at this time awaiting blocks which will hopefully arrive this weekend in the Horseman`s Area off Grant Rd. We only have 6 authorized target areas left, but will reenforce 3 earlier drops. We are hoping to be done by May 1st. Maps will be made availabe to the general public around the 4th of July, the crew sinking them will have maps in time for crappie season. The reason for the lag is there should be some reward for those participating in actually doing this. If interested, contact US Army Corp of Engineers 1-937- 325-2411 for info. THANK YOU to the many who have helpped us get this far!! And we are quite confident the results will speak far louder than words possibly can, especially with the new 9" limit on crappie. Time will tell the tail... |

Am currently busy stripping a leaky cement block basement wall of 6+ layers of peeling paint, getting ready to eventually move some dirt to correctly fix it`s currently less than watertight condition come dryer weather. The irony of looking at the less than appealling mess does not escape me , would joyously wet the whole *&#%$@~ wall if only the blocks were unpainted! We will assemble the herd and meet in the horseman`s area off Grant Rd with the blocks on April 16th at approx. 10 AM (weather permitting) The Park Maintainance is concerned about limiting the number of vehicles going to the N boat ramp so we will have to double up into 2 or 3 trucks for the ride in. Would suggest to anyone interested bring handtools (2 Vicegrips and 9/16th, 11/16th sockets and socket wrench) we will have everything else needed, including the maps to pass out upon completion. Will overguesstimate and say weather permitting we should finish in 4 days, including watering these thirsty 155 trees. As always, respectfully, The Friends of CJ Brown Reservoir |

The much awaited blocks are now on the old N boat ramp, we are still on for the 16th (Friday) to assemble them, with luck and good weather, the majority should be watered by the 18th, completing the project. We are still interested in anyone willing to help and do this, keep in mind crappie season is 2-3 wks away and white crappie specifically flock to any available cover present, new or not. And of course, maps will be offered in return for even a couple hrs of help. Thank you to Steve, Jason, Eddy, Leo, and the 2 hidden hands. I am ever so anxious to have the splashing begin one last time...respectfully The Friends of CJ Brown Reservoir |

Will be 2cnd to last on this one, 10 AM on old N boat ramp CJ assess is off Grant Rd at the Horseman`s Area, we 4 are on, we could use anyone willing to assist for even 2 hrs. You might not like it, but you WILL love the results. Crappie season is rapidly approaching and will have ALL those GPS positions in your hot hands as the lake heats up, pardon the pun. And keep in mind too, 75%+ are easily fishable from shore... |
