I would imagine that there would still be quite a bit of water left in September. Besides, isn't that the time fish are feeding up for the winter???

On a side note--I got some live bait for tomorrow morning:worm and leeches. I also got hubby a license online Big Grin<!--graemlin::D-->.I hope he meant it when he said this would not be our only trip. I ran into some locals at the Redner's and they confirmed a rumor about a very large walleye just sittin there. Nobody has been able to tempt her. That's why I'm going with the live leeches. Weather is expected to be cloudy all day, sooo...I am sooooo excited. I won't be able to sleep. Roll Eyes<!--graemlin::rolleyes:-->

i don't think they start lowerin the water until end of sept, and even then its not bad at dry brooks and then the ramp is free, i've launched out of the no-wake zone last nov. its a little tough back there but the main lake isn't bad, they normally drop the lake about 5 or 6 foot of shore line, we could launch out of dry brooks and lunch over at the beach area, its nice over there and lots of shore to beach the boats Cool<!--graemlin::cool:-->

Not really it's not that bad in Sept. Plus it congragates more of the fish makin it a little easier to catch them. Hey Joey any input about the meet pics. Let me know cause i'll send them a letter. It's not a big deal where we go to me so just count my vote for wherever.

No word on the pics yet, but I sent them from work and I'm not touching that account for another 36 hours!

I like the 23rd and 30th (rd)

Just a note to let evryone know that there are big fishies in the stilling basin. By the way, I had fun with (hubby)Bob when we went fishing. He complained about the bugs--I handed him the spray. He started spraying the air. I told him he had to spray it ON himself. He got one tangle after another. So, I handed him my rod to help him out of a bird's nest. He felt the action on my Phleuger and said, "I see how it is--you have the Cadillac and you gave me a Chevette." "Well," said I, "it's good thing, too. You keep throwing yours on the ground."
So I proceeded to get his rod situated; taking one of the extra hooks off. "you give me a Chevette and now you remove one of the cylinders!"
He had trouble setting the hook. We had lots of bites, and the big fishies were popping their heads from the water to look at us. (I think they were having a laugh under water.) I actually had a nice perch on my line, but when I turned to check on Bob's issues with yet another tangle--he threw the hook. So, no fish were landed. Will try again another time.
Also, I am fine with the 23rd and the 30th R/Date.

You know me, I'll try and be there. Big Grin<!--graemlin::D--> It sucks not being able to make positive plans. Roll Eyes<!--graemlin::rolleyes:--> What times are we looking at? Are we gonna do the same thing, meet in the morning and then for lunch? If the waters down for the meet, I suggest State Hill or the one beside the beach, can't think of the name. Roll Eyes<!--graemlin::rolleyes:--> The free launch can be though if they got the water down. Eeker<!--graemlin::eek:-->

So what? Two mini-meets a year? I thought the idea behind these was to hook up a few times a year. Big Grin<!--graemlin::D-->

depends how you define mini-meet.

I'd love to hook up for some Safe Harbor catfish off the dam with some members or some late night carp hunting at Marburg.

It's just a matter of making it work.

i would say around the same time 7 am. or earlier, and meet at dry brooks and do lunch over at the beach area, thats bigger over there and nice sand to park the boats. after labor day i think its free at dry brooks anyway Cool<!--graemlin::cool:-->

another idea is everyone bring one new lure to add to the pool and the biggest fish wins the pool, that way everyone adds to the prize, and it could be 10 or 15 lures dependin on how many show up Wink<!--graemlin:;)--> Cool<!--graemlin::cool:-->
