httrdd, nice lookin boat!  Looks like you will have plenty to occupy your son's time with!  Scott, make sure ya take your camera along!  I understand the first tournament at the marsh will be April 5...I didn't think the water would be up at that time...Usually mid April...

I hear ya Pete. I'm pretty sure the water level will still be down for the tournament. It will probably be the only tournament down there till after bass season opens because I know there is no tournament fishing during the bedding season. I didn't research the date on when bass season officially closes.

Thanks for the compliments guys!  We decided to post-pone the tear out until fall though.  I figured we would enjoy this boat for the summer save up some money then work on it later.  I will be running on the electric motor only this summer so no big lakes for me.  Oh well I am in love with this boat, after all it is one huge upgrade from my 12ft aluminum.
Thank god for fishing season!

Well we hit Blue Marsh today. The fishing was slow for a while but it sure did pick up! All fish were caught on jerkbaits. Hope I can get the pics on.

Glad to hear ya found the hybrids, Scott!  I went to the fishing flea market and found some real good buys...  I then spent the rest of the day working on the "Bushwacker".  The bunks had to be modified, adding extra metal so that Iwould have better adjustment.  Everything for the engine went well until I tried to start her up...The battery is fried, won't hold a charge.  I have a new spare at home so I will take it up this week one day and finish her up...  I never made it to the marsh, would have liked to tho!  Scott, I hope my pics were a help and you were able to tell the spots where I took the pics.  I can believe that the stripers are up stream.  A lot of different species is spawning up that way.  The walleye fishing should be good all the way back thru the channel...On my son-in-laws new fish finder (Lorance 510c) we saw many bait pods in the main lake area (last weekend).  Especially over by the dam.

Pete, you couldn't see the pics I posted above right? I'm assuming you saw the ones I e-mailed you? The stripers were schooled up in a shallow pocket below the bridge that crosses in the no-wake zone. Right where it makes the right hand turn on the left side before it hits that steep bank. The wind was blowing into that pocket and I'm sure blowing the baitfish in there, we were catching them as shallow as 4 ft. I wander if they don't make a false spawn run like they do at Raystown? Hope you got everything straightned out with your trailer!

Goat, I was using a shad colored x-rap that I got the smallie and one of my hybrids on. The other hybrid I got on a clown colored rouge. Bruce was using a pearl colored excaliber I believe that he got the largemouth on and his first hybrid, then that fish bent on of the hooks straight so he was switching to a few different models, mostly with a lot of white in them. Good luck in the tournament! Most of our fish came in fairly shallow water, couldn't get anything on the deep banks with jigs which was pretty unusual. Ed, thanks for the tip! I'll have to see if that works for me!

I noticed there was a lot of fish activity in and around the stump field and areas where the water depth was around 3'...
