I went fishing at Francis Slocum on Memorial Day and I noticed that the grass is growing back GOOD!  I remember when they decided to kill the grass to make it easier for shore fisherman and it completly destroyed the fishing IMO!

The crappie were hitting my  5" Rapala for one so they were hungry!  The crappie are looking more stout from eating better and hiding amongs the weeds.  I also caught five healthy 12 inch bass amongst all of the grass.  I cannot wait to see what the summer is going to produce this year.  Let the pads grow!

    Thank god for fishing season!

I would say average size.  I did not mesure them, but I would not hesitate to fillet them up!  good size and the were feeding top water.  I went out again yesterday and caught a 15 inch bass in the deeper water on a silver suspending Xrap.  It was a skinny fish and I released him to fattten up for a better fight next time!

Sounds like I may need to make a run up soon!   In July I'll be up to lake Jean (sp) for a family reunion (Williams).  I will most definatly be taking my gear!
