7:40 am till 12:30 am fish some on the east side ran into weeds pulled up and went west. Picked a small laker on a spoon and a salmon a bit later. Wind shifted and weeds moved in this area also. Went to a south troll slammed into a huge pod stopped to clear mess then kept going south to just below Severn picking up 4 more lakers. 5 or so riggs in that launch area and three at Lodi. Ran two riggers with spoons all day going for LL ,bows and browns didn't do very good so I would drop a spoon down in laker land every now and then to keep from getting too bored......... <img src="http://www.lakeontariounited.com/fishing/images/smilies/emoticon-0101-sadsmile.gif"> ...........water temp on top was 75ish fleas were not a problem on either side......

Here is todays report, Howard have a good time up there.........Pete good luck.........Scott sucks to be you........

    Seneca 8-13-09
Went down the hill with Hoot a little after 8am. Pull out of the launch area and saw one of the limbs Hookedup may have seen yesterday it was on the shore when we came back in. Saw 5 or six boats all in about a mile or so of each other and I think Hookedup was there also. We headed south on a rainbow hunt that I told jason and tangleline about a few days ago. Found out it was the next point down from the info I gave ya. All we picked up was one 22" laker down there but I sure ain't no rainbow catching fool either !!!!!! Lots of weeds so we could only work a small area gave it up after 4 passes with just one hit. Went over to west side and trolled back north till 12:30 then picked up and headed in. We boated 6 lakers and lost 2 or three fish on the spoons with a slider on. The one we kept were 22" @ 2# 5oz , 23" @ 4# and 24" at 5# 3oz. (male)...........we also saw some more logs around so keep yours eye's open when your running WOT.
82' down back 20' dodger peanut did the most damage. Fleas were only at the knots weeds on the west side would change as you would be coming to or going past a major point.
Pete ran some of your spoons today , running a rig some thing like a mup rig. Two spoons the same one down deeper the other on a slider line. I had two rips on that combo but didn't hook up. We had three hits right at the end and only landed one fish , mark spot on GPS will be back in the morning............

Thanks guys , we had a steady bit going today:

    Seneca 8-14-2009

Fished with Hoot and Don from the trailer park today we started our troll where Hoot and I stopped yesterday. We had ran three riggers two with spoons and slider cheaters and the deep one with a dodger peanut. Ran the dodger peanut down 82' then 92' up too 72' and back to 82' picked up lakers south of Severn at 92' and north of there at 82' and one salmon. We picked up 3 salmon and two lakers on the spoon riggers and lost or didn't hook up on 4 or 5. Total for the day was 4 salmon 10 lakers only kept 5 lakers and the salmon. One laker had a huge lamprey on it. 45' down and 60' on the spoon rigs with 60' the best. We were set up at 7:40 am and pulled last line about 1ish.here is the damage:

    and the reacking crew......lol

    Nice catch Ed!

Today at 5 pm I'll be headin' out with Lanny to the marsh again (today)...This is close to his last fishing trip (I think) this year.  He has to have rotator-cuff surgery soon!

Friday night Lanny and I went fishing between the storms.  Lanny caught 4 sunnies

and we both had several good "hits" along with several follow-ups.  We quietly fished the shore line, working our lures until after dark.  I must say that times such as these make me feel really blessed...

The simple pleasures of wetting a line with friends is what life is all about...And I thank God for these simple pleasures...  We no sooner got the boat back to the shop and the rain started.  It was a peaceful, quiet ride home for me and I spent the time remembering all the times I have spent with those that enjoy the quiet times of wetting a line as the sun sets on the horizen...

I am just gettin' around to posting my pics for Tues. - Thurs. fishing...

On Tuesday I caught two small sunnies right off the bat, but that was it for me this day...

But Larry caught 8 including a 10" lmb.  Wednsday was a pretty good day, in that I caught a 12" smb and several sunnies.  Larry was picking up lmb and sunnies.  The color white seems to be what they like.  For the most part Larry used a 2" twin tailed twiste on an 1/8 ounce jig.  On Wednsday he switched to a white crank bait and continued with his luck.  All my fish were caught on the white "glass shadrap".  Thursday morning was spent trolling.  We tried lake trolls with j-9 Rapala jointed minnow and spoon.  But we didn't hook up until Larry switched over to just a j-9 black back silver sided Rapala minnow.  Larry hooked up on the West side of the island, about half way up from the launch.  He fought it to the boat before he lost it...We never got a look at it!  Sooo, that is how it wnt this week.  It was really cool that we finally hooked up while trolling, a first for me at the Marsh!

I put the "Bushwacker" through her paces, making sure all systems were functioning (I even had her safety inspected by the Coast Guard)for the trip to Seneca, NY and Raystown...Woo wee, here I come!
