Hi everyone, Just moved to Johnstown last Aug. My wife and I both love to fish and we managed to try Glendale lake, Quemahoning reservoir, and Hinckston dam reservoir before the weather got too cold. Checked out Somerset lake and look forward to trying that one in the spring. I've never caught walleye, pike, and muskie and really looking forward to angling for them. Been a live bait fisherman all my life (much easier with the wife) but have bought some artificial lures, jigs, etc. to try for the fish listed above. Been watching all the fishing shows on cable trying to learn. We have a small 8 ft fiberglass boat but just shore fished so far - got to register the boat before spring so we can use it now. We are retired and love Pa., we're both northerners originally. Looking forward to conversing with club members

Hi Shoover. I'm a lifelong resident of the area and have fished all of the lakes you mentioned. Our primary lake is the Quemahoning. The fishing action at these lakes has dropped of dramatically the last few years because of fishing pressure and those "hungry" fisherman who must catch 50 Crappies every time out. Hinckston Run and Wilmore were great little lakes and still would be if guys would practiced some catch and release. Alot of guys, me included have switched to night fishing. You might want to give that a try.

Hi Rambler, Maybe we could get together sometime to fish. I had my best luck at Hinckston Run, Quemahoning was the only place we caught no fish at all (in 3 trips). We like to night fish and have done so many times in the past and plan to do more this year.
