Hey butterhooks . There are a variety of charters you can go out on , if not they have a few piers you can fish from that usually produce some good catches . What part of Myrtle Beach will you be in ( North , South...) ?

Unfortunately tere are alot of Sands hotels at myrtle beach ! You will more than likely be on the grand strand though which is right in the middle of everything . I always charter out of Charleston because it's closer to where I live and I've never done it out of myrtle beach . Charlestons charters go out to the gulf stream and are always alot of fun catching a variety of fish . I'm sure Myrtle beach charters do the same being pretty close to charleston so I would definitely try and find one going to the gulf stream . I recommend calling your hotel asap and asking them what info they have on local charters and maybe even going ahead and booking it today as they tend to fill up fast , especially on weekends . Alot of hotels give you entertainment packs in myrtle beach with discount rates , you should see if any of the trips are included . Don't forget to let the charter company know you're a NAFC member , you may get a discount there too . Sorry I couldn't help more but i hope this at least gets you on the right path ! Good luck and have a great time , it's supposed to be a beautiful weekend here !

If you do decide to drive to Charleston from Myrtle Beach , we always go on the Thunderstar , it ports in Shimm Creek . Last time we went we caught jacks , snapper , dolfin , triggerfish , grouper and porgy . One guy caught a shark .

    hey scout,

thanx again for the info. i didn't get a chance to get out. i'm from north west indiana and had to come home early because of all the flooding here (20 inches of rain in 2 days). good news is my bro-in-law moved down there so i should get another chance to get down there.

That sounds excellent . Keep me posted when you might charter , maybe I could get away for the day and meet you and your brother in law for a day trip .
