ok, don't know how many of ya'll have heard about it, but it's apparently a big deal up here. there was an alligator 8 to 11 feet 300 - 600 pounds, depending on which newscast you watch, found dead in lewisville lake. the game warden is fit to be tied and is going to prosecute it like poaching.
ok....here's my thing. yes, it's sad that it's dead, but, how many people are safer now that it's gone? it made it's home in a cove where these people and their children live. some of their pets have come up missing. they were told that it was too large to relocate, and there was nothing that they could do about it.
another thing, how does the game warden know that someone killed it? yes, it's stomach had big holes in it...but couldn't that be from buzzards eating at it?? or coyotes? or any other animal that happens to come across a dead anything? it was decomposed so much that it was falling apart as they were towning it across the water. had to stop and retie a few times.
is it really such a bad thing that it's gone??
i don't think so....
