Ok Im getting ready for some fishing its been a long winter and even if all I get to do for a while is go to the local pond, I'm gonna get some fishing in. Only gone once this year so far. And yep that was to the local pond. I feel a little limited with having younger kids. Attention spans being so short and fearlessness being so large. I didnt have any luck but I did enjoy watching a nice Rainbow feeding on spring flies.

I hope to hear about some other members trips throughout the year. You know details like where you went. How it was. If it was good what did you use. You know. The normal stuff. Heck if you tried out a new lure or bait, well what did you think?

Been  a good year for me.    Farmington pond produced a lot of channel cats, and a few rainbows. Clearfield pond gave up a lot of channel cats and some bass. Bountiful pond was un corked when it came to big carp.  Kaysville ponds got all mossed up, making bait fishing on the bottom a pain.   East canyon was a superb producer of some really aggresive smallies. Fished a lot of other water but those were the main choices if i wanted to actually catch fish.   And to think, that was only since april, its ICE time now.      Bring on strawberry and flaming gorge.

Went out to Bountiful pond this last week on tuesday and caught a nice surprise. I was bouncing a three inch jig off the bottom and had a real light bite from a nice largemouth that threw the hook when it reached the surface. Then in the same area I caught a nice trout on the same rig. All in an hour and a half.
Fishing and trains, what else is there? BASEBALL!
