hi papa d, this water walker, most of the member of north american fishing club are either out fishing or at the local fairs, or at the church dinners, this fall, getting ready for fall hunting. fishing here, as gone down hill. rivers and streams are here, but the fish are? we pay people in this state to serve our interest in having good breeding stock etc, and we pay them good wages, but, where are the fish? we spend good money on fishing licences, but where are the fish? why do we go thru this year, after year. the good ole day's are gone, as far as i know right now, in my part of the state, they can't even keep the brook trout going? such a sorryful thing to say, but, also, the fed's and state have made getting onto state and fed property in my area, for outside interest, is winning over. i still go to the local fish and gun club, but there is no support or real answers from the bio's, etc state people, of what is going on with our different fish populations, in the streams, up in the northeast in my state. i like to vent once in a while, it gets it out of my chest area, so i don't have a heart attack, for the bull that comes from the state.

    thanks

GOOOOOOOD MORNING to all out there in fishing land. Morning from S.VERMONT this is frank(jellyfish).Sitting here drinking morning coffee on this foggy september morning.WATERWALKER has it right, fishing up here is starting to slow down a bit, hunting season is right around the corner, hang the up pole, blow the dust off the old gun.The season is changing fast up here, the trees are starting to change there colors, grim reminder on whats coming.I have to agree with waterwalker 150 percent. We do pay good money for our license. We have a state trout pond down here,in vernon, and as for trout they may have stocked it once, and that was at the start of the trout season back in april, where has our money gone to.IT'S true the good ole days aregone, but not forgotten.I can remember walking out in woods picking up a stick throw some line on it, and you got yourself fishing pole. Now you have to ask permission to walk across that peice of woods to get to that stream that has not been fished in years, i don't mind asking permission. Here in vernon we have a damn, you probley heard of it vernon hydrow, well we have fish ladder added to the damn a couple of years ago, this whole summer it's been closed, what gives there. It would be nice to go down to see what has gone up though the ladder to go north up the conn. river. This years fishing down here has been bad to.waterwalker, not defending the state, but do think that all the rain we been getting this year and last year, with all the run off and streams flooding over banks could have an effect fish breeding in the streams them self be washed away. I mean ,i've noticed down here that most of the streams have been re-routed or washed away.I'm just as mad or very up-set as you are. My 13 year old son asks me questionslike that, and i have no answers either.I could vent all day but where would it get me. Frank(jellyfish). footerchip@yahoo.com

Good Morning To all you vermonters out there, And a good morning to waterwalker.Well you can tell it's fall in vermont, cause the leaves are falling, the temps are dropping at night to the mid 40's to the low 30's.That's a sure sign that the squirrls are out getting there nuts.By the way it is squirrl season,Thinking about going out this weekend and getting some squirrl, gotta make some squirrl stew,I hear it's going to be a cold winter here in the north.Fro m the few times that i've been fishing the acorns are dropping like mad, should be plenty of food this year for the deer population.I really don't think the ground food will be any better, from the smells of rotton mushrooms, i mean they pretty bad this year,We just had to much rain.As i'm out in the woods squirrl hunting with my son, might as well do some scouting, to see where and what the deer have been eating. So i imagine with all the rain we been having i bet there is alot of thick underbrush, good places to hide and bed down. Doesn't feel the same since Dad passed away. We be missin' him. My brothers and I are gettin' together tomorrow for a hunt we'll see what happens.

You go for it Dennis; time will pass even faster if you keep busy. My disabilities have made me give up hunting and ice fishig. I do tend to wear myself out at Spring and Summer panfishing though... Have a good hunt and the fun too. Dennis? papa_d

well my nephews have been going out ice fishing these past few days, and today, one of my nephews came home with a northern pike, at 33.5 inches long, and at 8.26.lbs. This lake is not surpose to have northern pike, as what the state says, but they are there now, and getting big.
