i only added this cause i didn't know where to put an actual report.........anyway i fished burke lake yesterday and it took a while to finally find the fish but ended the day catching three bass in the last hour of fishing........the largest was 5lb 7oz.........they were all in around 5 ft of water relating to wood and i caught them on a black/blue/purple jig with a black/blue fleck chigger craw trailer....is anyone else fishing yet?? does anyone want to go fishing??

Ok, my first post didn't work, actually, because I had to sign off, not realizing my post would even show up.  Anyway, I'll be visiting my mom and dad in Faifax around the 3rd week of June until the 3rd week of July and would love to fish Burke Lake again. So keep those fishing reports coming because I'm reading them, trying to decide which hand poured soft plastic baits to bring, ha ha.

No prob, I love Shad and Striper fishing too .  I grew up fishing with my grandfather and uncle as they were both charter boat captains on the Chesapeake Bay and we make some dynamite soft plastic eels. Now let's see, what soft plastics for the shad?

Ok thanks.  I remember using darts when catching the shad when I was a kid.  Do you sell your flutter spoons?

sometimes.....if i am catching a lot on he spoons and not the darts i'll hand a few out and sell a few after they like them.....i'm running really low on supplies right now, so i'm keeping most of what i have for my self......the rocks and boulders in the potomac like eating them even more than the shad...lol

sounds good.....although i am to the point that i am going to use the canoe in the potomac so i can fish that channel edge.....if i capsize its only about 125 yrds from shore.....and if i caught a few stripers it would be worth it....lol

fished the occoquan river for a few hours bafore dark tonight.........was trying yo catch herring for stripers tomorrow.......instead of using a weight at the end of the sabiki use a swim shad........it helps attract the herring and can make things interesting when you catch some good size cats and stripers like we did tonight

USAFfisherman and i went to burke lake this morning and had a decent day.........fish were caught on wacky rigged trick worms and senkos all day, buzzbaits in the morning, and a spinnerbait of my own design around 2pm.....bass are tight into the grass and cover with most fish hitting when the lure hits the surface
