I hit Burke Lake just about every weekend, always Saturday and often Sunday.  I also take a day off work now and then.  I usually rent the johnboat and row it, but sometimes I'll fish the dam or if it's windy I'll fish from the pier.

 

Anybody else in the DC area go to Burke often?  Let's meet up and tell fish stories.

Well    I'll be at Burke when the boat rental opens this Saturday morning at 6 AM.   I usually rent a jonboat and row it.   Fish from 6:30 until noon or so. 

There's a couple nice spots for bluegill early in the morning,  then about 9 when the sun gets up there's a big shallow flat where cruising bass are all over the place.  

If anybody can make it just drop me a note.

I have never fished Burke lake. Have a buddy that is getting in to fishing that lives in newington. Have plans this weekend, if your planning on fishing next weekend let me know.

Fished it once, on a Wednesday or Thursday. I've heard that it's pretty crowded on the weekends...that true?

Just got a fishing kayak, so I may have to venture on down there on a day off.
