Fished Roosevelt yesterday. first outing for the boat in quite a while. I found out a few things. Boat batteries don't last forever, the time to find out is not after the boat slides into the water. Electric downriggers don't work when the batteries are dead. A brand new trolling motor controller, may not work. I am endlessly resourseful and knew I just bought a new battery for the electric and used it to jump the big motor. Seven hours later I discovered, (along with a disguntled partner)that the fish were not on the depth finder, not hitting our baits and were willing to contribute to our disasterous day. The weather on the other hand was a thing of beauty. We climbed out of our Carharts and basked in the sunny glow for the intire day, ate lunch, laughed and lied as long as we could stand it. During the hundred mile trip home, I stared at the sunlit windshield and pondered the days outcome. My partner checked his eyelids for bulletholes> Terry
