I just called up my good fishing buddy. We went to Rufus last year just before I went underway. We were talking and came to the conclussion to make another trip out there this coming January. Hopefully this trip will be more successful that last years....

Well, its semi offical... We are heading to Rufus Woods for fishing on the 16-20 of Jan. We are hoping that the road conditions get better and that the weather does too. We will be camping out for the next three days. Like I mentioned before, if you care to join us on the water, the more the merrier.

Well, due to the weather and the 2 and 90 being closed, our trip is being played by ear. We are only going to be there for the 17th and 18th due to this. If you are still up for it and care to join, again you are more than welcome. We'll be trolling the cans and shore area next to it in hopes for that 20+ pounder.

Well, some unexpected news came from my best friend/fishing buddy. He found out yesterday that he is being sent back to the Sandbox the weekend after our trip. So, now we are going to head over on the 17 and come home on the 20th no matter the conditions. We will find a way and we are going to try to have the best time that we can, knowing what is to come.

Ahh shoot, I knew I should have swung by the NAFC again sooner. I was just there last Wednesday. Did quite well, with the trout limiting in 2 hours. No fatty triploids though. They were 3 lbs on average. We fished right below the powerlines behind Chief Joe dam. I might even go again this Wednesday. Cocktail shrimp, red marshmallow, on a #4 hook, and rig it with a slip weight.

I met Jeremy and the guys while on their trip and I will tell you he and all of them are great guys. Jeremy glad I met you and hope you all had a lot of fun and hopefully you guys kept the ax I forgot lol. I went and bought a hatchet yesterday so I am good to go. Again I hope you all did well.

It was great meeting you and your daughter. I do have your ax. It helped out a lot breaking up the pallets people left behind. It will be here waiting for your trip over in the summer, where I will be waiting to wet a line with you again. Plus, Sam will be back by then and I am sure Adam will be there too. I will have my family out there fishing along with me. Keep in touch

Looking at making another trip out that way when the weather warms just a little. Fishing with ice forming on the rods is just a little too much for me. Plus, I need to track down some wood around here to bring over. Looking at just a day trip, there and back.

Ok, due to having an umpire clinic that weekend, I have changed it to March 13th-15th. Will leave after school is out for both my son and my neighbors son who will be joining us for the trip.

I hope so. Just might make it a two day trip and have the whole family join in and stay at a hotel or something. Still working out the details with the boss.
