A few months ago I heard that the land owners on the lower Samish were going to start charging fishermen to fish that river. Does anyone know anything about that or know where I might find information on the subject?

  I really know nothing about that issue in particular but, I suppose it would be within their rights. There is a guy here in Kitsap Co. that, while he doesn't charge (yet) he does require fishermen to fill out a consent form annually. Mostly it's to help deter people from trashing his property, which I can fully understand. At least he's trying to be reasonable about it. I'm hoping it works because I hate it when the stupidity and carelessness of the few ruin it for the rest of us.

Well thats the exact reason why they want to do it up here. It's just sad how some people treating the outdoors.
