hey all, just wanted to let you know what has been going on the last two weeks, the last two saturdays i have been up fishing around fletchers for shad and stripers. the shad are there in force i have been using shad adrts in blue/yellow, white/flo.green, and shad spoons have been working too i personally like the orange but an angler next to me this morning was using gold. as for the stripers, with the water still being so clear and low your presentation has to appear as natural as possible, and fish at either dusk or dawn (actually, thats the same for the shad, they have been much more active in low light conditions), some have been caught with bucktails in white and some on sassy shads/swimbaits, i also recieved info this morning that the majority of stripers are still holding down river. the herring are also slow on getting here (another reason the stripers are behind) luckily i was able to hook a few with some small darts in white and pink, i cut them up, threw em on a circle hook and not a striper would look at it, i did how ever hook a 26 1/2# channel cat so that was a big bright spot this morning, all in all shad are there and being caught, herring and stripers are slow, and the catfish are picking up most baits put out for the stripers, good luck all hope to see you out there
