Hello fellow anglers! Moved to the Wausau area about 3 months ago and looking for some places to fish other than the wisconsin river. I don't have a boat yet, so anyone know where to fish from shore for walleye or perch?

Lake DuBay is the place to go...if you have a boat! However, there are a few places I've gone in the past. One area is the bridge just south of Knowleton on 34 (bout a mile off the interstate). There is a spot to pull off to the side (west side of road) and room for about 3-4 cars. Another is to continue south on 34, turn east onto County E until you meet Dam Road. That will take you to a landing and big shore access area just below the dam. FYI, County E has a lot of curves. I usually come from the south end, so I'm not sure about this but, I believe while on 'E' you go past a boat landing, shortly after the landing the road comes to a Y, if you go right, that is 'E', if you go left, it follows the lake toward the dam, but not sure it goes all the way through. You may want to stop at the bait shop in Knowlton on Old Hwy 51. They may be able to help you out also, besides just bait. If Patty is there, tell her Cousin Mark says hi. |

Oh Ya, Chris, My normal fishing grounds are on the Wisconsin River around Stevens Point ( born there) and the Nekoosa/Wis Rapids area. I fish numerous shore areas there for cats, walleyes and bass(s) |
