To all the Badgers headin out for the opener this weekend, hope you have a safe and successful outing. May all your motors purr like a kitten, all your spots be free, and your rods bend like a willow stick. I'm headin out to Rock lake.

I ran into a few guys the other evening that were doing OK with turkey hunting...and although I'm not ready to get into it...we ALL knew of a few spots to find them around here

That said....I MAY grab a rod in the early morning a hit a few little river spots that I discovered over the last few months  can't see going out in the boat by myself at the moment though.

This weekend is the YEARLY "85 Mile Garage Sale" here around Lake Pepin....both on this side AND the Minn side....and today I went out locally and found a few goodies...including a like-new Ugly Stick for $5 (sorry AB  ....and found out about a guy on the Minn side that supposedly has a BUNCH of repaired St. Croix rods for sale....so I MAY go check that out tomorrow.

I hope you guyz have a great weekend

Didn't find anything at Yard Sales today....but did run across a little hardware store on the Minn side that had Seafoam for $5.68 a can...I bought all they had....as the cheapest I had seen the stuff recently was $9.32 on the 'Net

Did get out fishing today for a little while. At the 1st stop, I tangled my spinnerbait in a tree....then proceded to slip on the mud of the boat launch, banging my head on the concrete....busting the handle on the reel...2 scraped knuckles.

Then lost 2 lures at 2 other spots

    Oh well

Sorry to hear that Dave, I hope you're ok. I had a great day despite windy conditions. I caught 13 bass, and 1 pike. The best were a 19 1/2" and 18" LMB, and a 19", and 17 1/2" SMB. All caught swimmin a jig. My partner had a good day too. No hawgs for him but he did have a 25 1/2" pike. Met a fellow member afterwards and swapped fishing stories. It was a great day. Ya beat me Dave, I only lost one lure today. Here's the big largie, and the small smb. the others are on a disposable sorry.

Went out with the kid sat morning and heard lots of turkey gobbling. Seen nothing. Came home and he went back to bed, I went fishing. Got a 12 inch Walleye and a 15 inch Smallie along with a bunch of small smallies. They turned their nose up at the Chartreuse jig and went for the Red salted twisty tails. The river (Black River here in Neillsville) dropped 3 inches during the day. Went back out turkey hunting at 4pm called in one turkey that was small. It was either a small Jake or a hen, James seen it but I just got a glimps. Not shot taken but it was withing 20 feet. Went back out this AM and nothing. Going back out this evening.

Opening weekend was a blast. 4 guys fishing the Little Wolf. We brought in & released 50+ decent bass, a few walleye, a sucker, a cat, & a large sheepshead. Green tube baits, & yellow/orange Mr. Twisters
