Dose anyone have any tips on how to catch northerns and panfish up near Lakewood or Townsend in Oconto County?

My grandparents have had a place on Wheeler Lake (Townsend Flowedge) for years and I still havn't figure out how to catch them. Other lakes in the area are bass lake, resivior pond.
    Panfish
I have always fish from the shore, using a slip bobber, split shot, with jig, or small hook. For bait I used crawlers, or leeches.
    Northerns
I have better luck at catching Northerns and they are really nice sized. For these fish I'll cast mostly spinners and a few top water lures. I've even tried putting a sucker minnow on a treble hook, steel leader, and bobber.
