        I hope everyone had a safe and happy New Year!

Quick Update:

-         “Ask a Fisherman” should be coming down next week.  We have been ready to pull it for 2 weeks, but didn’t want to pull anything in case it bonked out the forums during the holiday break, and no one would be around to fix it.  So, it should be completed early next week.

-         Overall speed update- We tested pulling the ads, and that saves between 7-14 seconds for those on dial-up, not great, but still significant enough to pull them.  We are also running a compression tool to compress some of the html, and we are looking at scaling back the Flash files to speed up the site in general.  This will give anywhere from a 25-50% lift in speed, which I hope helps a lot.  The goal is to have that done by the 11th, so essentially next week, though this will take more testing before moving live and that could delay it.  Just want to be up front about that.

Question; when you said you plan to pull the new ask a fisherman thread are you talking eliminating it for good ??? or just redoing it ???

Reason I ask is there are alot of new members asking fishing related questions

 I know there are  alot of negative posts as well  and I agree if thats your incentive for pulling it so be it.

Whats up with "ask a fisherman" You move it but it`s just one continues thread. Can`t start a new topic. How do you expect anyone to find anything? Well i guess thats one way to get our negative remarks off the front page. Wonder where we will put them now. Decisions decisions.

I really believe that it doesn't  matter what we say here.  From what I see and from what I hear back you all are going to do it your way no matter what we as club members suggest.  I am starting to think that my Life Membership means nothing at all except money in someones pocket.  Instead of starting a complete new site the should have considered cleaning up the clutter in the old one.  I believe that we that use this site would have understood that.  This site is just a complete mess.

Hello again Fishing Club I am again asking for you to fix a couple of things.

1. Can you fix it so we can again see who is logged in when we are on the site.

2.Can you bring back the Chat Room??? it is sorley missed by us Life Members as it was a great way for us to stay in touch.

so by next week you realy mean next month? it dont matter much anyway you'll do what you want anyway(not nesseseraly you, but the club and by club i mean a stick to beat people with)... we got nothing to say about your changes cuz you don't care about feed back, and we will deal with what ever you do till we can't take it anymore... this thread is a waste of space same with half the ones you tried to save....

Good Morning Fishing club.  I , and I guess others may too. The ability to see the video's that are posted loads on my system only a few seconds at a time. Then i wait for the next few seconds of video to load. I called my internet provider (wisper wireless) to ask what the problem may be. I have wireless connection and for most everything it works very well. My internet speed is 384/256k And this may not be fast enough to run these programs without stopping to down load more data. The program I have been trying to see (KNOT WARS) is an example of the problem. My provider asked if you could change the program so I could down load it and then view it ?

I could upgrade my service for an additional cost to 768/384k But if you could change the method that it is sent in that would be a great help. and save me and other Members the added cost.
