        A brief update: We are working on the upgrade to the forums, we have it up in test on one of our other sites, here are some screen shots:

In addition to these changes, search is getting a drastic overhaul, the ratings system will be completely new, and Private Messages will be able to maintain the formatting with separated paragraphs, bold text, etc.

 

We are still in testing on the other site, and once we finish the ratings system, and work out any issues, we will start moving it live.  I will keep you posted as we get closer, and may ask for a few volunteers to test the forum features.

    One other note, we can not currently turn off the "Post Anonymous" function, and to be honest, it would do little good because those who use it could (and do) just use the "Registered Guest" function, creating a second alias to post instead.  However, those posters are easily identified, and I have asked them to no longer use those other aliases or the anonymous posting, or I would ban their IP's.  (UPDATE: One has been banned now "picwic" and his other aliases)

 

Please remember this is a freindly community, everyone is here because they have similar interests and values, and we ask that you treat eachother with respect.  For most, it goes without saying, for others, it sometimes needs to be reminded.

I dont know if this is where we put ideas or through out suggestions for the forum. I am in a few other clubs and one thing that I really like is that 1. we all get assigned to a direct person or head for a certain area. I think this would be fun to have a senior or life member we can get assigned to, to ask direct questions to first and get a little quicker response. 2. We also have this neat function for the forum where you can bookmark certain threads and get email updates when it gets a new posting and a link back to the thread so you can keep on threads your wanting to follow. 3. We also have this great function that keeps track of the threads we posted so you dont have to bookmark them to check quickly.

These are just a few ideas from another forum that I use that makes finding stuff and related topics and keep up with threads we really like much easier.

Thanks for giving us all a place we can go to and swap ideas and help. And hope to see it doing well for a long long time.

I feel these forums would be a better place by using volunteers as moderators. These appointed moderators should have the power to move posts from one forum to another, to lock threads when they have been beat to death & to delete any offensive posts. The extra eyes on the forums by these moderators would only serve to make this a more user centric site. Many people have slammed the new forums because of losses of old posts dislike of the new site etc etc. This may be a way to invest back into the user community here & empower the moderators to help support the reason these forums were put here. I posted a similar thread in the lifers forum to gauge the idea. So far I would say its a generally positive reaction.

When will I be able to log on as a life member and particpate in the contests?? I have been waiting now for almost a year and wrote to you 74 times regarding the inability to log on and you have done nothing to fix it. 90054616 LIFE MEMBER NOT A REGISTERED GUEST SINCE 1996.

These forums are really slow even with a high speed connection. In fact, at times they are so slow that I just leave this site.

   I think you guys need to pick up the pace a little bit, before you have a mutany on your hands!  there's way to much complaining on BB.  

   It is my opinion that, I liked the old BB better!  It seemed a little more friendly and inviting.

   But I understand change so keep up the good work!

Why do I keep getting this message when logging in??  I am careful entering my screen name and password info.    Then when I do get on, the "add reply" tabs are missing, so I can't post. I have to log back out, then in again.  After every successful post,( which takes many attempts)  I have to log out and then back in to be able to make my next post.     I'm a little tired of hearing that the club is working on the site and I will expreience trouble for the "Next few weeks" That might be acceptable if it seemed that something was being fixed, but it doesn't seem that way on my end.  Please help me!!

When is this site going to get back to the way it was?  It was not broke to begin with and all these up-dates have not "cured" a thing!  It has caused a lot of members to leave and it is going to be awful hard to get them to return.  I understand that the IT folks and Internet Department have "projects that "someone" wants done ASAP"., but this site is the members way of keeping in contact with one another and should be given  PRIORITY, before more members leave.
