Yeah, that last post icon isn't working the way it ought to. It's been on the bug list for a long long time.
As far as not seeing the new posts... hmmm... I'm wondering if it's some sort of caching problem. |

Perhaps the same problem of when you make a post, instead of taking you back to your post it takes you out to the very begining of the thread... LM since 2005 Bushwacker Deputy Sherif

On the old site when we clicked on a topic it took us to the last page right away? I'm not a web expert but I've notice that when I click on a topic with multiple pages listed under the most recent topic list on the community home page it take me to the last page of the topic. When I click on the same topic on the form page it take me to the first page. like I said I'm not a expert on web design.. however I would think if you added the same java scrip line to the forum page that you use on the community page it would take us to the last page on the forum as well. just a thought Thanks for all that your doing to make thing better. Different subject: After logging on, I got to the "click to win" after my entry is verified, if I click on the "home" tab it shows I need to log in again. But, if I use the "back" button on my browser and go back a few pages, it shows I am logged in. What's Up? Dferguson (aka Laker)

I can relate...and I wonder if it has to do with those of us that show as "Registered Guests" even though we're Life Members. I tried the Click and Win and got a message that said I needed to be logged in, so I put in my last name and Life Member #...and it said the info doesn't match. Here's the screenshot of it...I've sent a full size version of this to Member Services. Jerry....I don't see the same thing you are. I have yet to click on anything except "Last Page" that actually takes me to the last page of a Topic. Dave, Take a look at the blue selection line above !(home, articles etc) now look at your screens shot of the contest page next to the blue contest tab is a tab called community page.. it use to be here on the forum but is gone now ?you can still access it from the contest page.. click on it> it will take you to the community home page there's a section called most viewed topics and current topics if you click on the current topic heading any of the topics listed under it will take you to the last page of that topic to save you some time here's the page http://www.fishingclub.com/Community/CommunityHome.aspx "Friends are GOD's way of showing us that we don't have to fish alone" "Take a child fishing"

One of the things that was slowing the forum down was updating everyone's post count in real time. We tested putting a delay on it (update it every 15 minutes or so) and the speed increase was pretty dramatic. We traded off the real-time post count for the speed increase. Your post counts are updating, just not immediately after you post. Just thinking out loud the site was working great up until the delay was added for post counts. just wondering if that has anything to do with the loading of pages and post? Slow-downs right now...there's some testing going on with caching. The developers are trying to find the right balance. Fishing is running better than Hunting right now (IMO).

A point I would like to make is that most sites require a minmum post count before you can make your own thread or subject, I think this would clear up a lot of the clutter advertisers come in and do that are not active with the site even if it were just 20 replies they had to make before they could start their own thread. Its easier to Judge then be Judged, Its better to be Judged and Learn from it. Holdrege, Nebraska |

You can't even post a simple IMG tag : [IMG]http://i43.tinypic.com/24o96a1.jpg[/IMG] or HTML : <a href="http://tinypic.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i43.tinypic.com/24o96a1.jpg" border="0" alt="Image and video hosting by TinyPic"></a>

I think there's things we could do to limit access/funtionality non-members. The tough thing though is I've seen club members do this kind of advertising on the forums too. We had a blow-up over at the Handyman club a few weeks back when a member promoted a product in a bunch of threads and it rubbed the other members the wrong way. I don't think we'll ever be able to do away with it 100%, but I'll stick it on the list.
