I recently received the newest Cabellas catalouge and was amazed of all the electronics we need today. From fishfinders, over GPS, all the way to underwater cameras, etc. Seriously, does all that make one a better fishermen?? How did our grandfathers sucessfully fish without all that?
Not that there is anything wrong with all that stuff, but I can't see why I would need more than a sonar of some sort and a judgement of what structure may hold fish.
Some time in the future, perhaps, we all have lures that will automatically find the fish and "catch" it for us. Who knows?!
I don't mean to ruin anyhting for people who have all that gear, that's great and I hope to play with some of it myself sometime. But how much do we realy need on a boat? To me it seems like it would take some fun out of the thrill of the sport.
