COMMENT ON THIS STORY

A FISHERMAN needed 12 stitches after being attacked by a 2ft PIKE.

Luke Gorman, 24, was left in agony after the fish gnawed to the bone of his right index finger.

He had been filling a float in a lake when it swam up. Another angler rushed him to hospital.

Luke said: “One second my hand was in the water, the next it looked like it had been in a mincer. I could see the bone before it all filled up with claret.”

He was attacked while catching carp near his home in Windsor, Berks.

Luke added: “The pike must have been 20lb. The next time we meet it will end up on a plate.”
