heard a fellow fisherman talking about using garden snails for catfish bait, never heard of this,, have thought about it but never tried it out, sooo i did some searches online for info or other claims of success using it.. nope no luck only one breif post on a forum about "when i was a kid i used snails for catfish" any of u know anything more on this? just curious i have plenty of those suckers out in the gardens could be a double play, get rid of some snails plus catch some fish

yeah...catfish are those type of fish that will bite the oddest things...believe it or not i have even seen people here in the south use clods of soap wrapped in a stocking attached to hook and line and pull cats right out of the water...so im pretty sure the snails are quite tasty to them...
If your baits dry, your not catching jack!!!

The best are the big slugs. Cats eat them up and you dont have to use that many of them. When the slugs get wet they turn into leather. Ive caught as many as five fish on one slug. Only problem is that when leaving you have to cut leftover slug off hook because it wont come off itself. lol
