What is scary is that someone might watch that and think that is the way it's done! Tom

That was extremely SAD! The worst part is that I see it all the time when I take my kids to the little lake by our house, but I dont have the heart to say anything. Even when my six year old asks why that guy is using the wrong rod. Seen it reversed too. Baitcaster on a noodle rod. I just dont have a answer for it.
Fishing is a disease with no cure. Which is fine by me!

I met a guy one time that went out and spent the money for a Carrot Stick. Bought a casting rod, then mounted a spinning reel on it. Why would someone spend well over $100 for a rod and not match the rod and reel? If you don't know any better, best not spend big bucks on the wrong tackle! Tom

I'm not sure I'm getting it. What's the big problem? I can't count how many times I've read stories/articles by so-called 'Experts' that say things like "Sometimes fishing 'wrong' will get surprising results". If you don't know it's wrong but it works, how is that wrong?

Well I guess I'm fishing wrong, and it's not working cuz I have not got a pay check yet this year. You know what kills me is seeing some guy with a spinning outfit and turn it so the reel is facing up and reeling it backwards. What's up with that.

I know that people starts out fishing their own way! Then they have gotten into bad habits way to fish! But when they need to learn a different way and get ot of those bad habits! If this person is going to learn how and what with new equipment such as rods & reels and lures!  I didn't think at first, but everyone needs help and I should have sent him a email to advise him of a problem that is starting!

The problem in the video is that a spinning reel needs a larger 'stripper' guide than a baitcaster. Using a baitcaster on a spinning reel does not create near as many problems as the other way around. I would not hesitate to put one of my casting reels on a spinning rod but would never reverse that. Tom
