I'm stumped. Now I know Colorado isn't as lively as the saltwater fishing I'm used to... That being said, I've got Fort Collins and NW of Fort Collins mapped out and it's pretty good fishing... What I'm stumped on is I moved to the Denver area in 2006 and still have not found a true honey hole. I'm looking for trout and I know they're around. My fishing time is usually after work so I need an area close to Lakewood. I am well equiped for any kind of fishing and I have found a good crappie hole. Anyone want to trade info?

News on
Colorado Fishing.
Along with a group of friends we try to make one trip to Colorado Elk hunting each year. I've managed to bag my elk or mule deer on the first day which put me into things to do with rest of week. I found a neat operation outside of Crested Butte where the DNR folks were milking salmon for their eggs. The great thing about it was if you hit it just right they would give you the salmon if you had a fishing license which was not expensive. For that small investment in license we were able to bring 200 quart ice chest home full of beautiful and delicious salmon. In addition we found some great fly fishing and inline spinner bait fishing on my little ultralight rod and reel. I particularly enjoyed wading in the creek behind our log cabin and catching fish on my ultralight which is always with me. It is so beautiful! To make a short story long--I was equally impressed with the DNR setup. DNR setup is parallel to the river. When they take the eggs from Mother and fertilize them they are placed in concrete holding tanks to birth & grow. When they are ready for stocking they are released from the tanks directly into the river and when spawning season begins those Salmon return to holding tanks where they were born to reproduce again. Some setup! Hats off to the Fishery Folks in the great state of Colorado!!!!!! Uncle Tom

Good luck and great fishing!
I built my own lure company as a young man--thus the name UncleTomsJigs. It grew so well I decided to give it up and go fishing with family, friends and especially grand children. I became disabled as a United Methodist Pastor IN 2002 and retired here in Coastal Georgia on a 10 acre lake where I continue to fish despite my disabilities. My wonderful wife and I enjoy fishing together. God has blessed us in so many ways and we pray the same for you. I am excited about having so many new friends all over this great country.

The big problem with that setup at roaring judy hatchery is the DOW does'nt protect the salmon. They do have laws, but enforcement is lacking. It great when they milk them that they give them away.kokanee are one of my favorites to catch and to eat...
