I'm not sure, but I've done well with inline spinners, mimmic minnows, and spooks.  I mostly use a 7' M rod with 10# Fireline.  I suppose I get more white bass than wipers.  I will step up to a 7' H rod and 30# braid if need be.

Guess this new forums still has some bugs to work out on it.

Anyway, we can't use any remote device, or spring device, or reel operated by any other means unless directly by your own hands.  There's was a big deal on this even for handicapped people that took years for exception.

Here in DFW we usually find a nice Hump on the lake and drift slowly using either a trolling motor or a drift sock. Either vertical jig off the bottom using a TNT slab. Or cast a Sassi shad out usually a 1/4 oz jig head with a slow-very slow retrieve. I've also had success using a MEPPS #4 and reeling in very Very slowly off the bottom. a 4:1 ratio reel or lower would work better for that setup. If you are unsure, follow the birds. If you find the white bass, you'll usually find the Hybrids.

I use back cast reels with 30 lbs spider wire. We usuall fish 20-40 ft of watter and will fish a 1oz slab. The color we use is green or silver. A castmaster is very popular here in Kansas,

rattle traps are my go to bait for wipers. I fish a medium light 7 ft pole with 10 lb mono. make sure your drag is set or the bigger wipers will break your line. like i said rattle traps are my go to bait but i also catch them on blade baits, and night crawlers. if you get into a bunch of them busting the surface you can throw almost anything at them and they will attack it. wipers, whites, and stripers are very aggresive fish. when i find them busting the surface i like throwing a two jig rig in the middle of it and there is a good chance of getting a fish on each jig which is an absolute blast.
