Maybe try calling Bass Pro Shops as they sell the Bass Tracker brand.

Your steering problem may be a misaligned trim tab or bent skeg. I would have it checked by someone familliar with outboards. Tom

The bad thing about a Tracker is that you can't just get parts from anywhere. You have to contact a dealer and pay their high prices. A dealer could probably get you a console. If there are any questions about the boat, try to have a mechanic look at it. It may just be something simple and cheap to fix, without doing the trial and error method. That gets expensive after a while.

I know how it feels to be taken on for buying a boat! I have this web site that you will be able to ask for all boats! Go to this site >  www.tinboats.net also you can go to this site, www.marinedoctor.com . You have to sign up but it is free!  I have 2 boats that I was taken on, 1 is a 14' Grumman semi - V hull metal, and the other  is  Tomboy 16' tri - hull fiberglass. The Grumman had leaks at the rivets and the Tomboy had rotten transom! So now I'm in the repairing part, so I do know how it is to be taken!
    Good Luck
