I have tried them, not enough to say whether I like them or not. For only $20 for a package, I figure what the heck.

Used the orginal banjo minnows kit for several years and couldn't catch any fish compared to the normal typical stuff.  I'm sure if I kept trying that eventually I will catch a fish, but have given up on them.

Like many others, I tried them a couple of times but not enough to say Yea or Nea--looked like a good concept but I have tendency to fall back on old faithfuls.  I tried the TV snake and a nice fish inhaled it on about the tenth cast.  Needless to say I have more faith in it.  Have discovered first impressions don't really say much.  I think I will give them another chance.  Good luck and good fishing.  Uncle Tom
I built my own lure company as a young man--thus the name UncleTomsJigs. It grew so well I decided to give it up and go fishing with family, friends and especially grand children. I became disabled as a United Methodist Pastor IN 2002 and retired here in Coastal Georgia on a 10 acre lake where I continue to fish despite my disabilities. My wonderful wife and I enjoy fishing together. God has blessed us in so many ways and we pray the same for you. I am excited about having so many new friends all over this great country.

I seriously don't think they're worth it.  I wouldn't waste my precious time on advertisements!

I really try to like them but they have some fundamental flaws. First I will say the one bass I caught on them was the only fish caught that day and there were a ton of people fishing from the shore with me.

Here is the issue I have with them.

    1) and biggest issue is the stupid eye hook system.  A few good casts and the minnow eyes rip and there goes the minnow.

    2) minor but still - the weedless system AKA braces rubberband is pretty useless.

I still have several so am still fishing them.  Will see how it goes but I have had them for a year and not real impressed.

I really can't emphasize this enough... Please stop wasting money on this junk. There are some really good baits out there now that really work and if you can't afford them all just stop by my site and I'll send you some for participating at no charge, but please stop saying this stuff works and such.. They are a gimmick and they are not worth the money or effort.

    Well Steve....here I go again.

Folk's experience's trump what any ONE person has to say about a given lure. You haven't stated what YOUR experiences have been with them (IF any)...it just seems that you have been marketing OTHER stuff through you various businesses over the years...which you are continuing to do.

You HAVE that right....but don't put down others that have success with a lure.

My experience is very limited with the lure system...but the one time I DID use it...I was the ONLY person on 5 different boats that caught a fish.

I don't care for the rubber band thing my self...and for that matter...the company wants too much for replacement items.

The system that the founder of the company is sound IMHO ...but later this fall / early winter I will show you folks a generic / better presentation with this type of lure / "items involved".

Here's the facts Short and sweet:

You can sit here and complain about the club till your hands fall off, get all types of misinformation on a variety of topics, drive 50 miles or more to a store that does not carry most items, or order junk off of infomercials and from sites that strictly promote different items because they want to sell it, pay high shipping costs, and get nothing in return! OR..... You can come by my site, get product reviews and recomendations for products that we actually have researched and use, not just promote, because the people I represent carry over 400 MAJOR BRANDS and over 50,000 different products from them and it does not matter what ones you buy, so I can give a crap if you decide to buy junk.. but when you ask, we tell you what really works and make suggestions based on field testing and experience from 45 years of guiding and tournaments from people who do it for a living. Then we send you FREE BAITS for buying from us, give you free baits and apparel for just being a member and contributing, and also give you free shipping on most orders in addition to tips, tactics, and locations that you will not get anywhere else. Flat out! So.. Buy whatever crap you want and waste all your money it means nothing to me if that's what you like. Hey I guess even masochists have a place. but if you want the straight out truth and the best deals and free tackle that actually works, you know where to get it now.. There you go.. Do whatever you want but these are flat out facts.

I fish tournaments for a living (getting awful hungry this year) and I don't use things from As Seen On Tv adds. I buy tackle that has been proven to work on the waters I fish. I can tell you this though a lot of the stuff you guys use on the East Coast does not work out here on the West Coast(Washington). The bass fishing here is more fenessing than anything. I have tried east coast tactics out here with very little success. I grew up in western PA fishing muddy waters and then I started fishing here in Gin clear water and had to learn how to fish all over again. I did try one of those Banjo things a friend gave me and never caugth anything on it, so it's brand name tackle for me Zoom, Strke King, Yamamoto, Bandit Crankbaits, Termanator and Cordell Super Spots and a few others.

Last time I checked, Babe Winkleman commands a lot more respect and recognition than Delaware Trophy Bass. Babe sure seems to like the Banjo Minnows! At first he refused to endorse them, he fished with them a full year before giving an oppinion. No lure is going to catch fish for every fisherman on every body of water. If that were true, all the tackle box manufacturers would be out of buisiness! Tom

Your right Tom Babe Winkleman does command a lot of respect. He is a great fisherman and I hope some day to meet him and I'd love to fish with him, and your also right about his indorsement of the Banjo Minnow. But consider this, most of the lakes he fishes them in are remote lake in Canada were most of the fish had never seen a lure before and will hit just about anything. I have experanced this in Northern British Columbia on remote lakes there. things I tried here in the states and not caught anything on worked there. For example I was catching Lake Trout on Silver Hords, a salmon plug we use in Puget Sound for King salmon and they won't even look at them here.

I'm not saying the Banjo is a bad thing I've just never caught anything on them. But you have to admit that most of the adds you see no TV for fishing lures are gimmics to catch fishermen not fish.

I had the chance to meet Babe Winkleman at a fishing expo.  I've got an autographed photo of him.  He's looks alot taller in person than on television!
