Posted By Northeastbass on 20 Aug 2010 11:20 AM BABE WINKLEMAN!! ROTFL That is the absolute funniest thing that anyone has ever said! LOL That is classic. If you like it better, I can show you all those products catching giant bass and numbers of bass on 3 different private lakes I have and I can lie to you as well. Will that help you with the respect! LOL CYA LOL Steve....just about EVERYONE on here can see that you are basically SCREAMING for buyers. To the REST of you...I can GUARANTEE you that MUCH of what Steve sells on his site MAY not work in YOUR waters. JMHO Fot that matter Steve...MOST lures are tested in private waters in the beginning...then handed out to a FEW selected individuals for testing in various areas. So for you to run down Babe and other folks is just an ugly marketing ploy to me...no worse than what the OTHER folks / companies do |

LOL You are a complete fool. Do you really think I have been living in a closet for 45 years!! I have been fishing the entire country, guiding and fishing in tournaments for my whole life. lol I lived in California and fished there as well, Florida too. I have fished with Jay Yelas and others and I did seminars at Bass Pro Shops when you were picking out backlashes! Dave you don't know crap Bud. lol Do you really think I need you to buy stuff? I retired years ago and these people are friends! I sold my "REAL" Tackle business with physical stores and online stores in 2006. These people I am representing are Tackle Warehouse, Bass Tackle Depot and BASS PRO SHOPS. I know them. they don't need you to come there and buy anything. I promote only what we use and other pro anglers and guides and what works and tell people through first hand knowledge what is working and where so they can catch more. I do it because I love Bass fishing. You are an idiot! Go lube a reel Bud. |

I'm neither a fool NOR an idiot Steve...I KNEW I'd "get your gord" by saying what I did up above. Bottom line....folks on here are getting TIRED of you putting others down...Babe is just one example. And equipment-wise too. If other folks are happy with what they get / have....and have success with it....who the heck are you to judge them? It's their lives...NOT yours. AND it's THEIR pocketbook...NOT yours Folks are ALSO tired of you promoting YOUR "select group" of sellers in basically EVERY topic you post in. Put your "sales pitches" on here where they belong...and leave it at that. As far as BPS and other companies go....they ALL jacked up their prices about 2 years ago...and with the economy the way it has gotten (personally I've been out of work for 27 months)....they just caused their own sales problems. You're back to doing a revised version of what you were a few years ago when you and I got into it. For the rest of you watching this topic / discussion... I RESPECT Steve's knowledge AND experience But I do NOT like the "commercialization" of basically EVERY topic he posts in |

If anyone has a problem with my post I would like them to go back and check the last line of my post- no lure works everywhere all the time. Steve claims to represent BPS. Is this the same Bass Pro Shops that sells the Banjo Minnow in their stores, catalog and online? Tom |

What may be a great lure, endorsed for pike fishing, may be a very poor lure for bass fishing. Three years wasted on using the Banjo Minnow and not a single fish to back up the fish catching craze claimed by others. It is a lure I will never recommend to a friend nor will it be something I will ever buy again. If I should get a freebie, it will probably be donated to boy scouts. |

That's exactly what I said . Those manufacturers sell everything. I TELL YOU WHAT WORKS and WHAT IS JUNK. It is your choice to buy the junk if you want, but don't expect me to lie and say it works.I can show you giant bass being caught at Private lakes on junk just like Babe Winkleman or Bill Dance and a host of other money grubbing , I will promote anything for a buck idiots! I don't care what you buy from these guys I get paid anyway you ass. Do you get it now? You have always been a long winded blowhard who gets their information from reading and pasting not experience on the water in tournaments so in my book you are an armchair angler! and... I hate your crap you post. See? I tell the truth even if it offends your little Babe or Bill or whoever else. At least when I say something it is from the heart and not copied and pasted from somebody else that actually knows how to fish you ass! That is what I am saying Dave. and by the way I think you are an idiot and always will. |

Steve....THIS is from BOTH my HEART and MY gut.
I really could care LESS what you think of me....OR the information I have put up on here for other anglers. I CAN say this...that over the years I have probably been thanked 10 times more than you have for the info I've put on here. AND I'm VERY grateful for that...because I'm just an average "joe" who loves fishing and making friends. And I TRY to share info with other folks so that they can learn. And over the years...they have done the same with me. I could really care less about tournaments...as MANY of them BELIEVE that their "quest to make money fishing" takes precedence over the "average angler"...and they end up being rude out on the water. AND then there's the craze that SOME folks have for "monster fish"...as they MANY times lose sight of just being out on the water and having some quality time in nature. That MAY be their "choice"...but don't look down your nose at someone who is happy just to get out and fish. YOU cater to tournament folks and folks after GIANT bass. That's your right....but ONCE again...I could care less. You're pizz'n and moanin' about "paid for bucks" endorsers....but YOU are doing EXACTLY the same thing on here....only in a different way. LAST...but not least...take your "name calling" etc..and SHOVE it. I won't STOOP to YOUR level |

Boy some classic ol' your wrong I'm right, no YOUR wrong I'M right stuff. The Banjo Minnow will catch fish just like a bright pink french fry will. The problem is beginning or novice anglers will be swayed by big names and private/remote lakes, looking for the majic catch all bait. Which in my humble opinion is still gill nets and dynamite ! Since those two are illegal everywhere we as anglers have to wade thru all the advertising and over the top claims. Yes I have witnessed the Banjo Minnow catch fish on the Cuyahoga River in downtown Kent, Ohio. Four people fishing, one with the minnow, one with a Lucky Craft pointer another with dead suckers and myself with a white spinnerbait. We all caught fish ! Like pegsguy said, no lure works all the time, and sometimes every lure works. Remember you don't fish for crappie with muskie baits and the fish let you know what works and what doesn't. Unfortunatly fishing lures catch more people than fish and advertisers are always talking about fishing for sales. So get off the internet and get out fishing. Would I buy the Banjo Minnow, no. Because I have too much crap in my boat and tackle box already, also I have several lures that I can manipulate like a Banjo Minnow. Try any segmented swimbait that sinks and you can fish it like a Banjo Minnow. And no I've never caught a fish on a pink french fry no matter how many times I've tried and told by experts it's THE hot bait. Isn't Bill Dance a close friend of Jonny Morris ? |

I could care LESS about the "dirty laundry"...what you "supposedly" know about other fisher-folks Steve. ONCE again...ALL you are doing is putting down others to drive sales to your OWN website. And for that matter...I haven't paid a nickel to the Club since I became a Life Member back in 2001. ONE last time here Steve. I respect the knowledge AND experience you have Steve...but I'm NOT going to let you turn EVERY topic on here into a "commercial" for YOUR website. |

Dave I order a lot of tackle from Tackle wearhouse, Bass Tackle Depot, BPS, and Hi's Tackle and guess what, not once have i ever seen Steve's name on any of them. Anyone can set up a web site and add links to other tackle shops, it soesn't mean he is endorsed by them. Ok the guys has 45 years of fishing under his belt, does that make him mister great fisherman? I think not. When he starts cutting down great anglers lide Bill Dance that going a bit too far. If infact he is so good then why doesn't he have a TV show like Bill And Babe. And your right every time he post something he is advertising his business and this is not the place for that. I see enough advestising on TV I don't need to see it here. Harry |

Harry...you won't see his name on those sites. The money he makes from them is from the adverts on HIS website...that link to THOSE websites.
For the most part....companies pay others on the Internet for everytime an advertisement is viewed from THAT particular website....it's called "sponsership"
That is a GOOD part of the reason that folks that have yahoo and hotmail email accounts have seen a dramatic slowness while they (and me) are in there. EVERY time we click while in there...we get yet a different ad shoved in our faces. Those companies...and ebay...and a BUNCH of others....reached a "marketing agreement" to collect info on folks back around March...to be shared with ALL parties involved....for advertisement purposes. |

Dave hit the nail on the head! Ever wonder who pays for all the wonderful content on the 'Net? Believe me, that monthly subsciption or service or access fee that you pay doesn't come close to paying for it! Tom |

Tom I don't know about you but if I want to go to a certen website I go stright to it, and no way will I go thru his. Never have never will. There is no way I'm going thru some buttheads website so they can make money off me. Seems there is only one opinion and it's his, nobody else counts. Oh Oh I jsut figured it out, it's because we don't have 45 years in the fishing bussiness. I raise the BS flag there. I've been fishin since I was 9 and I'm 61 now. Do the math that's 52 years on the water so I think I can have an opnion on the subject. How about you. Harry |

There are a few of us around the forums that have seen a few moons. I don't mind someone having an oppinion but when they tell me that theirs is the only one that is valid pisses me off. The club pays the bills by selling advertising on the site, why do they tollerate this BS? Tom |
