I've never seen it before. Maybe it's just a play lure. |

The fishing snake was designed by Doug Hannon (of moon times fame) who has an incredible number of 10+ pound bass to his credit. He used to offer a no pay guarantee- if you hired him and did not catch a 10+ fish, you didn't pay. That's a better pedigree than the banjo or flying lure. Tom |

I tend to agree with RT, the snake is probably a regional lure. I'm sure there are many lures that work for me on my home water that aren't worth spit down south. Tom |

Oh yeah, location has plenty to do with it. Down here in Georgia there are plenty of water moccasins, and water snakes you see on the surface. |

I have done real good with the snake, recently. Like most I certainly had my doubts. I really like its lifelike action. Want to try them on strippers if the cold weather ever gets here, over 100 the last few days. I have chatted back and forth with them and the word is not only is it a great lure but a great investment if you got that kind of money. Take a look at their website: www.doughannon.com. Though they are covered with orders they are very quick to respond. Word is they may be in some major stores before Christmas. Maybe, the higher ups could work out something for club members. For those of you with sporting good stores check out the website and you will see some great deals about stocking them in your stores. They also have a fantastic new spinning reel. I've gotten where I use spinning reels a lot more because of my disabilities. Uncle Tom |

My wonderful wife and I enjoy fishing together. God has blessed us in so many ways and we pray the same for you. I am excited about having so many new friends all over this great country. |

Looks like a good Florida strain Largemouth Bass lure. I don't think it would do well in the north.

Believe the reel offered as deal to club members comes from the same fellow, Doug Hannon? He's well known in Florida area as Mr. Bass--use to guide and if you did not catch a lunker you did not pay. If club already has monetary connections why don't some of the heads at the top of NAFC approach Doug about the "Snake" as possible test product. I know he hopes to be able to put the "Snake" in some of the super chains by Christmas. What you say Multispecies 101 may be true about North vs South. I'm in the deep South and had great luck with the "Snake" last Spring and even during hot months of Summer "early and late along the edges". One of my "honey holes" has about four hundred yard stretch of trees leaning over into the water and I like to put the boat right up in the trees and cast the "Snake" as close to front of tree line as possible and ease it along--it is eary looking but man does it produce. When I write about it I get goose bumps. I would love to hear from the North side of club if any of you have tried it and what the results were. I know it has been widely tested outside of Florida but don't know about any particular tests focusing on Northern states. You can weight it down enough to get it suspended along in grass but it wants to float--throws easy without weight if you are going topwater. Give it a try and let us know. No! I did not get paid for this promo, just really like the "Snake". Wonder what it would do out on the West Coast in the home of "monster baits" and I know they have snakes in most all Southern States. Some in water and some on land and plenty in politics! This is about the only snake handling I do, anymore. Good luck! Uncle Tom

I think the fishing snake could be productive, but it all depends on location. Where you're fishing, what kind of water. How deep is the water, and other various facts. |

I don't know about "snake" lure, I have caught many fish on a 16" floating worm rigged with a series of hooks, normally 3. retrieve it slowly trying to simulate a small snake in the water. Sometimes I'm not really sure if they are hitting the lure trying to kill it and move it more than actually eating it. Similar to how they react to a lizard during the spawn. Have to keep close eye on the lure and how it'****. Many of my fish came after the hit, They hit real hard then they sneak back a few seconds later and quietly and begin haul it off. |
